Animal Shelters in San Francisco, CA

Oh, I know... UG! It looks like there's a rescue that might be stepping up on her photos' thread, and there are donations/pledges being collected over on another thread https://www.facebook.com/photo.php... (fingers crossed!) Timeline Photos BUTTERCUP IS 14 YEARS OLD AND SUDDENLY HOMELESS. She was dumped by her family to...day, Tues., 9/24, at the MEGA-DEADLY San Bernardino City Shelter. They said she is, according to her kennel card, "no friendly", yet Maria, a total stranger pet her, held her, and examined her with no issues at all. Buttercup is in terrible condition - underweight with mattes all over her back, nails that aren't trimmed, and most troubling of all a mass on her abdomen (see video #2). Despite overwhelming sadness Buttercup is sweet and gentle. After Maria pointed out the mass to shelter employees (whose job it is to find those things), Buttercup was taken to the vet. I put a hold on her (though I can NOT rescue her) to make sure her life doesn't end scared and alone at the shelter vet. If she has to be PTS I want it to be with someone by her side who cares. I don't know what the vet's findings will be but Buttercup won't be available for rescue or adoption until she returns to the shelter. Please share with all your cat people and anyone who has a heart and wants to help seniors and animals in terrible need. NOTE: I will be away from the computer for most of Wed., 9/25.
