I liked Urban Mattress by Central Market. Total soft sell unlike something like Mattress Firm which did give a bit of that car salesmen vibe.

I consider [The Mattress Underground](http://www.themattressunderground.com/) to be my "Mattress Bible", and they have a list of Austin (and other Texas cities) stores [right here](http://www.themattressunderground.com/mattress-forum/general-mattresses/1267-need-help-fast.html#1272). TMU is also great for educating yourself on what's available, what you can avoid, and getting your money's worth!

If you have any questions about specific mattresses, I'd be glad to help. Message me or ask here. Either way.

What size mattress do you need? I'm selling a twin I just bought so it's in great condition and I think it's still under warranty. PM me if you're interested.

Every mattress store I've been too seems sketchy. I'm going to check this out the next time I want to buy a mattress: https://www.tuftandneedle.com/

We used lunar mattresses off soco. They were local and nice. Student discounts too if that applies.

Mattress man in north Austin. Just look at their yelp reviews. Those guys are awesome

Thanks for the online suggestions, gang. I would not have guessed that that is a sensible thing to do, but it made sense when I looked into it. Went with Tuft and Needle. I'll give a report soon, but Reddit clearly loves it already anyway!

Sams Club and Costco have good prices on good quality mattresses.

Urban mattress is a great choice. I was able to exchange for a lower priced mattress at no charge when the first one didn't work for me.

Austin Natural Mattress is super legit and no-pressure. I love my bed I got there.

Denver Mattress at 183/Burnet, they are not pushy.

Buying a mattress online has never been easier. I owned a memory foam I purchased from Amazon years ago that I recently replaced. I've heard good stuff about https://casper.com/ (http://www.sleepinglikealog.com/mattress-reviews/casper-mattress-review/) as well as http://www.bedinabox.com/ (http://www.sleeplikethedead.com/mattress-reviews-bedinab.html)
A lot of people are hesitant to buy a mattress online since you can't try it out, but laying on a mattress for a minute or two in a showroom is next to pointless anyway. So long as the online retailer has your back if you don't like it (Casper will send someone to your house to pick up the mattress from you and give you a refund) you shouldn't have many issues.

Tuft and Needle. I bought the 10" mattress and it's absolutely amazing. I initially got the 5" and didn't like it. All shipping was free, in order to get refunded the 5" I just had to give it a charity, salvation army picked it up is was so easy.

I got my mattress from Sams Club online! It's a 12 inch memory foam. Feels like you're sleeping on a cloud
Furniture question: Looking to buy a wall mounted folding table at a store Hi! Weird question. I'm looking for a wall mounted folding table that can seat two people. Or...

Target would be your best bet given your restrictions. You might also check at Lowe's on Bayshore. If your budget is big enough, there are all sorts of stores that carry this kind of thing or can make it for you. Try [Room & Board](http://www.roomandboard.com), [Macy's](http://l.macys.com/union-square-in-san-francisco-ca/furniture), or [Blu Dot](http://www.bludot.com/modern-dining-room-furniture/modern-dining-tables.html) among others. If these stores don't carry such tables, they should be able to recommend a resource that will work for you. Good luck!
Furniture Store Recommendation? Hey Reddit,
I'm going to be moving into a new home and stepping up a bit in the world. I'm looking to get some grown-up furniture...

[Discount Furniture of the Carolinas](http://www.discountfurnitureofthecarolinas.com) in Morrisville just outside of Cary. You have to make an appointment to see the furniture and meet with someone there (at least I did when I went a few years ago) but they carry all the big furniture brands (Ashley, etc) for fantastic prices. Great couple run the business and no typical furniture store experience by being badgered by multiple workers.

Check out the place behind sheetz on glenwood, it's more of a warehouse, where you'd have to ask about what colors they have in the back, but has good prices

Got my couch at Coopers about 6 months back, was pretty painless.
Bob_Sconce replied:
Most furniture stores are shady as used car dealers. Locally, Dan Heavner is known as an exception. But, in general, the advice is to go to Furnitureland South in High Point. Don't plan on having anything else to do that day.
btotheek replied:
Avoid Ashley Furniture like the plague. I bought all new furniture there a few years ago and regret it still. It took several several months and several deliveries to get everything right. They didn't care about customer service after they made their sale.

I have a sectional couch, ottoman, and chez lounge from Klaussner that I really like and were reasonably priced.

I went to Ashley's furniture on Glenwood, and found the quality and price to be good. The staff there do follow you around like hawks, so once you get past that super irritating business technique, you can find some good furntiture

I had a good experience today at Heavner Furniture Market, at the intersection of Ebenezer Church Rd and Glenwood, near the car max. It’s one of those discount/overstock/clearance furniture places so it seems like stock would rotate pretty rapidly? Anyways, I got a dining table with chairs for a pretty reasonable price and it was delivered to my apartment within the hour.

.@olicollett I'm not sure actually. I don't follow many local food blogs. Anyone have a good place for SF dining recommendations?
