Saffron Online I've been subsisting on relatively small amounts of saffron over the years either from Penzy's or higher end grocery stores. I am a huge fan and run out...

If you have any Indian/Middle Eastern stores in a reasonable radius, they will always have the cheapest saffron (and saffron freezes well so you can buy in bulk and go infrequently).

I'd recommend these guys, [Diaspora](https://www.diasporaco.com/collections/spices/products/kashmiri-saffron?variant=37555005751467). They're more expensive, but hardly what I'd consider a luxury brand.

Find an amish farmer. In certain circles, they are notorious for growing the stuff. If that's not an option where you live, then try Frontier Co-op.

This is my local spice shop that also does mail order. [The Spice House](https://www.thespicehouse.com/) They have saffron as low as $15 a gram which IMO is very reasonable. No idea about shipping cost, as I just stop in and buy what I need. They also carry every other spice I've ever heard of. Quality is excellent and I've always gotten what I wanted with no fakes.

I know Costco has different sizes of saffron for a good price and decent quality. I don't know how much it cost to deliver in your area. https://www.costco.com/full-thread-spanish-saffron%2C-14-gram-jar.product.100389351.html

Atlantic Spice Company dot com is decent. I bought a couple of ribs of saffron that I thought represented good value. I got a pound of ground cumin from them recently that cost all of $6.30.

Do you have a Trader Joe's?

I have been very happy with the quality of what I have received from [RAM saffron](https://www.ramsaffron.com/). I have used it in Paella and Persian rice/polo many times. The first time I think I bought from them through eBay, but now I go direct through their website.
msimnegar replied:
Do you have a Persian/Iranian market near you? They should have good quality at reasonable price.

In the states: Vanilla Saffron Imports. Saffron.com. By far some of the highest quality, cheaper saffron you can get. Their Vanilla beans are really good too.

My mother got me loads of it from Cyprus. Genuinely, if , post COVID, you know anyone travelling to the Mediterranean, that seems to be a great way to get loads, cheaply.
