Hernandez Garden Service--works on several homes in our neighborhood weekly or every two weeks. Alfredo is the owner and he is great. Tell him I sent to you, LOL! (510) 583-1289. Good luck!

My father does quite a few yards in that part of San Lorenzo including at least 2 other houses on that street. (we lived on Via Alamitos as well until 2011). He is VERY fair on his prices & goes out of his way to help his elderly clients. He does everything from weeding, mowing, edging, bush/tree trimming, leaf blowing, rototilling, power washing, etc. Give him a call if you'd like: Steve (510) 493-3801 I mentioned this FB post to him so tell him I referred you.

Ryan Symons Landscape(510) 453-6433. Part of our construction team, he's been around forever and does most of the work himself. Highly recommend for a cut, or whole new landscape.
Nicole K. replied:
Ramon Cruz(650) 389-4804- he does regular maintenance on our front and back yards and will be doing work for us come spring. He did a major clean up at our old house and was very fair in his pricing. He works hard and is very nice.

We got the solar powered gopher stakes and they have worked very well! We got two and they drove out the gophers. http://www.amazon.com/Sweeneys-Gopher-S9014-28 not-available/dp/B0013E3TXC We got ours from a cheaper place online, but this is what they are like.
John W. replied:
Unfortunately, the professionals that we've contacted have told us that while they're happy to come out and trap them, they've also gone against their own monetary interest in telling us that it's a short-term solution unless the entire neighborhood is trapped at once. I did a lot of research on this topic about 6 months ago, and the solution that I'm going with next year is to lay down a layer of this wire - which will not cut your hands, unless you're doing something odd with it... it's galvanized wire dipped in polyester to give it maximum longevity underground. The whole idea is to have any irrigation/piping done, and then lay the wire down with just enough topsoil on top to give the grass something to grow on without exposing their roots too far down under the wire where the gophers can get to them, while not having enough soil on top to give them something to tunnel into. This is the local supplier that I decided to go with when I do the project. For me, the entire point is to stop having to deal with these little guys coming back year after year destroying the hard work that I've put into my lawn. http://www.twpinc.com/wire-mesh-material/galvanized/2-mesh-galv-welded-041-black-poly-48-x10
