Have you tried sittercity.com or care.com. I went to sittercity and did multiple interviews and had then interview with my mother as well. They perform background checks and you can search all credentials.
Ashley R. replied:
I personally have never used them, but have heard great things about http://anannyforu.com/ Seekingsitters.com may also be an option, if you need someone part time. Know some women who use them and recommend them. Good luck!

Just saw an add on tv, look at Care.com
Kasey R. replied:
yeah I recommend looking on care.com or sittercity. You have to pay for care.com (not sure about the other) but you can post a job and/or search by criteria. Also you may be able to search on line and find a mother's group for Issaquah area where they have forums and share info like nannies, etc.

Anders W. replied:
No worries. I've actually hired all three of the nannies that we've used, and two of them came via care.com. My wife will tell you, however, that all of them are ridiculously attractive. In my defense, also completely qualified and very good at taking care of Daisy.

My husband took me to Palisade for our anniversary. Make sure you ask for a window seat. It's stunning. And also delicious of course! And so so close, right at Smith Cove! $200 should be easy to keep. I also second the Zinzanni recommendation. We did that for my birthday and it was so much fun. http://www.palisaderestaurant.com

Westward recommendation here too, great food and view and firepit afterward! Brass Tacks in Georgetown has live music and shows, etc... Take a look at their program list.
Sarah A. replied:
Purple Cafe and Wine Bar is good, but I'd go somewhere a little more special for an anniversary. I would recommend Staple and Fancy! Go "fancy" and try the tasting menu. The multiple courses are such a fun experience and so reasonably priced for a tasting menu. With a bottle of wine you will be right around your budget. You will not be disappointed! I went for my bday and recommended it to friends for their anniversary and we all loved it.

Teatro Zinzanni! Nothing else like it in Seattle.

Marcia E. replied:
Just curious, why do you need a nanny and a driver for a 8 year old? Isn't that your job? I know it became mine when I had kids and if you give it to someone else you will regret it or maybe just saying "I need a nanny and a driver" you wont. Good Luck Vashon is amazing!
Devon A. replied:
Secondly, call Liz Atkins: 383-7179. She is a well-liked and well-respected nanny on the Island, and kids adore her, probably because she enjoys them so much. Her goals are always about fun and safety.

Edwards B. replied:
I'm a big fan of Orange Tea Preschool in Fremont. Not sure if 18 mo is old enough or not but they're great for scheduled or drop in. I think it was $9-10 an hour. We found our nanny through Care.com and we LOVE her! Though, to be honest, we had to filter though a bunch of disappointments. What sort of schedule would you need?
Edwards B. replied:
You might have good luck with Care.com as it seems that morning work is what people were looking for. I was trying to get afternoon and it was difficult because it was right in the middle of people's day so they couldn't really supplement with another job before or after. We lucked out with a college student that's done by 12:30. I had at least 8-10 applicants for summer work though, so I'd say it's worth looking into it. The other place I've heard great things about is Tretton School right by UW on 45th. I haven't been there, but they're intended for college students and faculty with random crazy schedules. There's a 4 hour max and again, I don't remember the age, but I know that it's come anytime and pick up anytime within 4 hours. I had 3 separate families unrelated to each other rave about them. I figured that was a pretty good reference. Had we been in contact a month ago, a nanny share could have worked out really well. I know how stressful this can be so I truly do wish you the very best of luck. Cheers!
