Hi, looking for a recommendation for a lactation consultant? Bonus if you have Premera Blue Cross and know the consultant accepts this insurance! :) I'm in Ballard so...
McKenna P. replied:
Renee at The Second Nine Months! She's the best.

Darcy P. replied:
Lytle Center takes Premera, Renee Beebe takes Premera for office visits at Docere Center for Natural Medicine, or for home visits she will give you a form to get reimbursed by insurance.
Stephanie J. replied:
I second Betsy Hoffmeister!
Jen T. replied:
Swedish Ballard has a branch of the Lytle Center, and they take Premera. I saw Terry, or Jerry (can't remember her name) and she was great.
Beth O. replied:
Catherine Fenner
Michelle M. replied:
I saw Gerry at the Lytle Center branch at Ballard Swedish, and they took Premera. She was great!
Rebecca M. replied:
Emily Pease at Swedish is the very best! She helped me both times and helped me successfully feed after a breast reduction. She was extraordinarily patient as we tried to get my second to latch for 12 weeks. She's amazing!
Amy G. replied:
Sarah Tyack is the best! We had a rough go and she was the only one that was able to help. Premera reimbursed me.
Mimi A. replied:
Catherine Fenner was extremely helpful and did home visits, not sure about insurance coverage: http://nurturenewlife.com/
Emily H. replied:
Also recommend Emily Pease at the Lytle Center. Well worth the drive. She saved breastfeeding for us. It's so convenient now that they bill insurance.
Min S. replied:
Emily Pease ran the Swedish Ballard weekly drop-in group, hands down the best: genuine, patient, welcoming & constantly reading up on new research that she shared with the group. I saw other LCs at Swedish first hill and other places who recommended outdated techniques and were pretty rigid in approach. I had a lot of complications and Emily saved my sanity. Feel free to pm if you need other resources.
Benita B. replied:
I thinkSwedish Ballard has lactation sessions on Mondays. Otherwise you can check this out: http://www.swedish.org/services/pregnancy-and-childbirth/mom-baby/breastfeeding
Halli T. replied:
Betsy Hoffmeister does home visits! Love her!
Gwen Y. replied:
Catherine Fenner is amazing and does home visits!
Jenn G. replied:
I've been to Swedish Ballard and the Lytle Center (both take BC). Both have "support sessions" for a small fee and the option for private appointments that's just a copay. I preferred the consultant at Lytle.
Sara M. replied:
Crystal Silva - naturopath and lc on stoneway (bonus, she has a week drop in new mom group, saved me in my first weeks)
Darcy P. replied:
Emily Pease at the Lytle Center or Renee Beebe at The Second Nine Months for home visits.
My friend is breastfeeding and is looking to find a lactation consultant that could help her with learning how to start pumping before she returns to work. Anyone have...
Anca B. replied:
Emily Pease at Lytle Center is wonderful. They take insurance, but your friend might need to check if the consultant can come to her home.
Michelle W. replied:
Tracy Corse at Nurturing Expressions is amazing, and will come to your house. Super nice and knowledgeable.
Gloria G. replied:
Healthy Beginnings is great
Ginger S. replied:
I've used Nurturing Expressions with all 3 kids. They were great.
Priscilla S. replied:
Nurturing Expressions- Tracey
Kamm T. replied:
Another vote for Tracy at Nurturing Expressions.
Toni H. replied:
Another vote for Tracey at Nurturing Expressions- they were amazing and she came to my house!
Sarah A. replied:
The Swedish Cultural Center has a class on Breastfeeding And Returning to Work that I thought was helpful. The consultant doesn't come to your house but I brought my baby to class w/o issue.
Elly E. replied:
I had a good experience with Sarah Tyack, who comes to your house: http://babenyou.com
Do you know a doula, midwife, lactation consultant or pediatrician that you love? We're building a referral list and want to know who you would recommend.
Jess D. replied:
For ped, Happy Salinas-Santos! Amazing bedside manner, you can tell she just loves kids. Also easy to get ahold of and does house calls. http://happyfamilyhealth.com/about-happy/
