Hi Scott--I would suggest our doctor Dr. Lawrence Houston MD- 913.851.4927--- He will give you information on how to be proactive with vitamins too. Greg and I are both over 60 and take NO medications.

Hey Scott, I agree with Tim. We have been using Dr. Yost since 2000. He is a great doctor. He was also one of Wes Fielder's fraternity mates. Small world.

Try Brad Yost. I highly recommend him. Good guy, about our age.

Scott, my Dr just moved to another hospital/clinic. She's awesome! Her name is Cassandra McKarnin and she's at St Lukes South. I'm going to pay more out of pocket so I don't have to change. I know it's not Shawnee but it's close.

Lori Scott Pemberton you are right, Dr Stamos is awesome. He was my dad's dr. I think he might be in his late 60 tho. He was thinking retirement when my dad was still alive in 2005.

Dr. Marty Schermoly He is at Olathe Med Center...they don't get any better. Marty and I were lab partners in high school.....but don't let that scare you!!!

I also like the Drs.. at College Park Family Care at college and Lone Elm. Dr. Kauffman (either Kenton or Holly. Husband and wife). Not long waits. Very friendly office staff. Whole family (teens and husband) went there. I liked Dr. Rahto and others at the quivera office, but longer waits there. Also they have after hours clinic at that location. Ditto Sallie Cloughley. If you're normally healthy, they can be pretty annoying but benign if it doesn't last too long or you don't faint or have symptoms longer than a min or 2. If you don't have any of those, make an appt this week with your dr.

I just ordered Dr. Formulas Hair Omega DHT blocker from Amazon and hoping it helps, my hairstylist recommended it! I’ve been struggling with the same thing for almost a year after switching birth control, it is so frustrating and nothing (or no one) seems to help with the issue of my hair actually falling out. The dermatologist has just recommended rogain/other options for hair growth (which I did notice new baby hairs when using it) but I still have consistent hair loss. I’m pretty sure it’s a hormone issue but of course by labs are “normal” so I feel like my only hope at this point is to unfortunately switch back to my old bc. I forgot to add that I did see Dr. Singh at KMC hair center was not impressed. She recommended expensive treatment and procedures done at the office which I felt like was just convincing me to spend more money without getting to the root of the problem

Blue valley dermatology is awesome. Might be a bit of a drive for you though. I got diagnosed with alopecia and they were able to do scalp injections and prescribed me some topical steroids to promote hair growth (real ones, not rogain lol). Everyone there was super nice and really friendly

seborriatic dermatitis? Ask about contagious and or fungal infections. You may have picked something up from your hairstylist.

Female hair loss is rarely a dermatological issue -- it's often hormone-related. If you haven't spoken to a primary care doctor yet you probably want to start there. Often they'll check your thyroid levels or check you for PCOS. I have both and those were both addressed with medication that stopped the excessive hair loss.

I went to Fink with st lukes healthcare and didn’t feel heard either - did a cursory look at my head and told me if I was losing hair I should use rogaine for men, not women, and sent me packing. (I think mine was in my head, but hard to tell since no ones ever actually taken pics or helped me find a way to measure)

For moisturizer, I use Clinique, but buy M (for men), because it's in a safe plastic tube and CHEAPER. Sometimes, especially in winter, I use Creamy Vaseline--very inexpensive and effective. It is often hard to locate, though, but one tube lasts me a year. You use the tiniest dab.

Kiehl's Abyssine Cream for night and their Ultra Facial Mouisturizer with spf 15 for day. I tend to be pretty oily so I use both sparingly -but don't feel too "shiny/oily"using them.
