help! My cat has been chewing and scratching a lot lately, we've tried flea meds and flea collars. Can any one recommend a good treatment or veterinarian that I can take...

Chemical flea treatments such as Vectra, Frontline, etc. can and do kill animals. If you wouldn't apply it to your child, why would you apply it to your pet?? Sacred Soapworks has flea spray and soap that's organic, natural and safe for cats, dogs and humans.
maybe this can help you,http://eartheasy.com/live_natural_flea_control.html

Amanda, As a C.V.T. let me start by saying, DO NOT Take advice from people on FB! NEVER NVER Use cheap flea meds from walmart, and before you treat your cat for something it does not have, PLEASE I am begging you, take your cat to a VET!!!!!! I would go to Handson Meekins in Coos Bay.

There are these new amazing collars that are break free and called seresto. Here is the website. They only sell them for at the Bandon vet clinic that I know of they are $50 for 2 with a $20 rebate. Each collar last I think 8 months! And there arent any harmful side effects to the cats/dogs. Changed our cats lives. My mom swears by them too. Her cats are allergic to fleas and their hair falls out and they couldn't quit scratching. It was sad. But seriously these are amazing and brand new. Just ordered another http://www.petparents.com/products.aspx/index/seresto?WHGRedir=1

Dr. ODonnell in Coquille is excellent. It's under $20 for a vet check and we have been using advantage 2 for fleas and it does a really good job. Treat your carpet with sea salt leave it on overnight and vacuum it up be very careful with essential oils because cats are extremely sensitive an can have really bad reactions to different things I would try a organic oatmeal soap to sooth the skin in the mean time I picked up some at the farmers market

We battled all last Summer against fleas. My male Maine Coon is allergic. He was loosing so much fur.. scratching like crazy and miserable. We tried a zillion things and Vectra has been a life saver. His coat is filled back in and no more fleas. We use it on our male and female. We get it at Hanson-Meekins Animal Hospital (not a plug, just FIY) and there is a buy two get one free rebate right now. Good luck!!!!
