I need a sensible vet for a dog in the valley - someone who isn't going to try and "sell" me on a ton of treatment and will give it to me straight. Who do you recommend?

YES! Doctor Hogan just left the house. I just love that guy! When I was 8 years old, I had a pony named Apache and used to ride him to North Bend (Dr. Hogan's office was where the Tribe Recovery Center, across from Encompass is now on Bendigo). Dr. Hogan saved my dog, Sandy's life when he was hit by a car. He sold the business, but now is traveling and doing home visits. He is VERY VERY reasonable (under $150) and such an old school - no nonsense - Dr. Pol-type doctor. Thank you, thank you! So, Coco's mass is something we will be watching, but he said that isn't the problem that he can see. Her vitals are ok, her temp is a bit up. He figures she got into something we can't see. We could do a battery of tests and x-rays, but he said let's give her some steroids and an anti-biotic injection and keep an eye on her. That is exactly what I needed to hear! Right after he left, Coco wanted to go outside and laid in the sun in the grass, got some water. I hung out with her for about 30 minutes, and then we came back inside, where she just fell asleep. It was so worth it. Thank you all for the recommendations!

My Pets vet is not costly. I take both dogs in for the physical and get out under $100. I have also done emergency visits for my chihuahua mix who decided she couldn't walk. The visit was under $100 and they did some tests also.

I second the Snoqualmie Ridge Veterinary Hospital. All of their staff are caring, friendly and respectful. We've seen Dr. Nadell for my dog's entire eight years of life, with Dr. Peterson on occasion as well. They're both great. They're all great.
