Not that I need to mention them again, but Derek Sutcliffe at Sink or Swim! Hands down. I just sent a co-worker there earlier this month. His daughter wanted her ears pierced for her 6 th birthday. They were going to go to Claire’s. I stopped that! She loved it! I asked if her if the guy with the big beard was nice to her and she got the biggest smile on her face!
Andrew R. replied:
Derek Sutcliffe and Samantha Raviola at Sink or Swim have quite a good track record with piercing kiddos. I would highly recommend them as an option.

Anyone know a tattoo parlor that will pierce a 5 year olds ears? Thanks!
Paula M. replied:
I am a Pediatric nurse and never considered a piercing gun for my daughter. Why would I choose a teenager with a couple of hours training over a professional piercer? Tattoo shops are not "nasty", they have to abide by health and sanitation regulations.
Kyle C. replied:
Tomato tattoo ask for Kris Hackenson he's fantastic and great with kids

Tonia Groezinger
Megan M. replied:
Never go to Claire's. Go to a real professional like Derek Sutcliffe.
Taylor H. replied:
Do not take your child to Claire's to get their ears pierced. They use piercing guns. Piercing guns can not be sanitized as they are made with plastic. The piercing itself can come out crooked, it will cause the piercing to heal incorrectly and the piercing will be uncomfortable. Piercing guns use pointed earrings that are not as sharp as a needle that a professional piercer would use, causing the piercing to hurt your child more because this gun is basically shoving a dull object through your child's ear. From someone who has 11 piercings, please take your child to a professional piercer, the experience will be a lot more pleasurable for your child and allow relief to you for knowing your child is more likely to not get an infection. I'm not sure about their age restrictions, but I always recommend Top Notch Tattoo in Elgin, I would definitely call first before going. Their staff is fantastic, the interior is not something I would call inappropriate for a young child.
