Hope Montessori is excellent. So is Goddard. I like Hope Montessori a little bit better.

How old is the kid? Magnet early childhood centers are amazing if you live in the City. Ages 3 and up.

here's a fun fact, in MO a church run day care gets to skip all but the most basic inspections. that's not to say that church daycare's are bad, just check them a little harder since the county/state isn't allowed to. http://health.mo.gov/safety/childcare/lawsregs.php

I would recommend one that teaches correct apostrophe usage. ;) Are you looking in the City or what?

My daughter had the most gentle, loving start at Forest Park Montessori. I really couldn't have asked for a nicer preschool! If I have another child I'll be sending them there for sure.

My daughter went to the Ritenour School for Early Childhood Education. They try to keep classes fifteen students or less and there are two teachers per class. Each classroom has a bathroom and a cool reading loft. They get to use iPads (along with traditional learning). Her class did international studies. I'm pretty sure the building is LEED gold. There's a little courtyard where they plant plants and collect rain water. There's a garden. It was really beneficial for her. Drop mic, walk away.

We love The Goddard School and have used two of their franchises. Nothing but wonderful things to say about them. Engaging, low class size, extensive curriculum, a little expensive but worth it imo. I'm happy to answer any specific questions you have--it's hard to find good childcare!

[Eliot Chapel in Kirkwood](http://www.ecnurseryschool.com/) is great. We sent my son there until last year (we moved.) It's really nice, across the street from the farmer's market. As a suburban dad of a certain age, I have to recommend it for the surfeit of trophy wives picking up their scions after yoga alone.
keymate replied:
We sent our son to a church preschool program that was great, Circle of friends at Manchester Methodist. Not a religious program. I've had several teachers tell me the kids they see coming out of that program into kindergarten are very well prepared for school. And I'm sure not all church programs are equal. Consider asking someone from the elementary where your child will go if they have recommendations based on what they see.
Repost for Missy - Has anyone had any experience with the preschool at Joplin Family Worship and would they recommend it?

If you are looking for a daycare that take children all day you can go to http://www.mo.childcareaware.org/ . On this website you can find a list of child care centers that take children all day. You can also go to the state of Missouri Website under http://health.mo.gov/safety/childcare/index.php there you will find in depth information regarding centers that are in good standards with the state.
