Buy a windows 8 laptop then change the OS to be more like 7. There's LOTS of internet how tos to help you do that cuz lots of users hate the 8...and you know I'm glad to come mess with computers any day. http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/software-and-web-apps/how-to-make-windows-8-look-like-windows-7-50009546/
Jeanne R. replied:
Stick with Toshiba! If you go to toshiba.com you can build your own laptop therefore selecting Windows 7! Don't buy a Dell.
Mary C. replied:
Have you checked the refurbished laptops on BestBuy.com? I haven't checked there lately, but they may have some windows 7 still in stock.
Lisa G. replied:
I bought mine from www.circuitcity.com It works great. when you load the page search "laptop" in the search bar. There will be more selections to narrow it down on the left side of the page. Scroll until you see Platform and select Windows 7 or whichever you would like.. *I did all the selections, going to paste the link and see if it takes you to the same page http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/guidedSearch.asp?CatId=17&sel=Detail%3B175_725_9807_9807%2CDetail%3B175_100_53962_53962

I would wait until next week on Black Friday. Most of the online homebrew shops have pretty great deals then. I would check Northern Brewer, Austin Homebrew Supply, Midwest Supplies, Morebeer, Williams Brewing, and Adventures in Homebrewing. Usually http://www.homebrewfinds.com/ will have most of the deals on their blog.

Are there any doctors that specialize in athletics and/or bodybuilding in Saint Louis? I need someone to help me tailor my diet and supplements for my body/blood type...
Solomon A. replied:
There aren't any doctors of that kind in St. Louis...black or otherwise. The closest one is Eric Serrano and he's in Columbus, Oh. The best bodybuilding coach / nutrition expert in this area is my friend, Jason Barbour. He's not black, but he is the best. Here's his website - www.mymetabolicmeals.com. Feel free to name drop if you want.

I spoke with someone at this place: http://www.fitfuel365.com/ Can't speak to their ethnicities ;) but maybe if you find parts of what you're looking for in various places, it'll come together to be just what you need all around. (That place is located in Clayton.)
Alauna C. replied:
Most doctors don't do this type if thing but you may find some that advertise "wellness". Just be careful cuz some are shady and just pushing products but there are good ones out there. As far as a trainer, talk to John Needem II. He also does some nutrition and supplement work as well to my understanding. And he's Black. Supposedly. Lol!

I personally workout three days a week with Jeremy at his Gym downtown on Washington next to Hair of The Dog. Awesome guy who is absolutely motivated to work with you, and find flexible ways to work with your schedule and get you in the gym often enough to meet your goals. I'm coming up on one year of training in October. Started with one on one personal training for the first six months, now I've graduated to pod classes (groups of 3-5 of us train together three days a week). I agree with evyononnell that location, budget, and how you would like to train are important. What is also important is how well your personalities mesh. If you don't enjoy who you are working out with and spending money on, you will be less likely to continue. I am a Personal Trainer at the 24 Hour Fitness in Kirkwood. If you would like, I would love to meet up sometime to just talk about your goals and see if you think we would work well together. After that if you decide to work with someone else, there are no hard feelings.

evinf replied:
Really depends on the type of trainer you want. I've worked with probably a half dozen trainers over the years, and know a dozen or so more just from being in the local fitness community.
Each trainer seems to have things that are their cup of tea. One trainer I know is like 4'10" and 95 lbs and is a doctoral student and so she tends to have clients who are younger and smaller women.
One trainer I know is like 6'3" 280 lbs and all his clients are generally competitive power lifters, including a few that are also personal trainers (even a trainer needs someone to train them and give them pointers and feedback).
Some trainers focus more on things like general fitness, utilizing circuit training and HIIT. Some focus on working and adapting routines for those who may happen to have injuries like the one you're talking about.
Rather than just taking a recommendation from someone online because they had good results with a trainer for what may be an entirely different body composition and reason for even seeking out a trainer in the first place, My random internet stranger recommendation would be to talk to your physical therapist and seeing if they have any suggestions.
