Not sure where in Tacoma you are located. I go to Norpoint Center in the Browns Point area.. $5 drop in rate. Great facility. Great equipment and fun classes. Yearly membership seems reasonable.
Looking for a powerlifting gym or group Hello
I am new to the area and looking for a powerlifting gym or group. Basically any gym with plenty of power racks, deadlift...

Downtown Y. 5 total squat racks. One room is a "functional exercise room" with two of the squat racks plus deadlift platforms, kettleballs, a machine that simulates sled pushes/pulls, a bunch of pull-up bars, boxes for box jumps, a climbing rope, and hanging rings which allow for awesome variations of bodyweight rows and pushups, among other things. Also they have a strongman shoulder press log which I loved.
It's a very 1970s style interior, which makes things feel a bit cramped, but it's really not cramped at all. In fact, it's kind of nice, it has basically 5 separated rooms of different weight stuff on the main floor, plus a "toning studio" with light weights upstairs and a stretching room next to that. Since the rooms are separate, you don't have to worry about the little old ladies working on machines complaining about you deadlifting too loud because the machines room and the deadlifting room are on opposite ends of the main floor. If you go at the right time, you might even have an entire room to yourself! Really helped me because I was super self-conscious at first.
They also have a pool and sauna which is great, I swim a lot, it's great for muscle recovery and it's far and away my favorite form of cardio.
They used to offer powerlifting classes, don't know if they still do.
I left Tacoma a few months ago and I like my new gym but not as much as the downtown Tacoma Y.

I've searched as well but never have found the perfect fit (been here 4 years). The UPS gym actually has the most that I know of. I have also been to the LA on 6 th ave (meh), the anytime on pearl (3-4), and personally I really liked the Exercise Science Center (2-3 racks). Good luck in your search!

Not sure if Crossfit Decimus has any better deals or if you've already checked them out, but a really good guy runs the place and I would totally suggest it. But yes, crossfit isn't cheap, if you can afford it and eat good, you will see results almost overnight
I need to pick your brains for a minute - I am trying to start a running club from my gym in Gig Harbor - What times normally work best for most people? Just curious,...

Route 16 starts their runs at 6:00, Interurban Runners at 6:30, old Parkway Tavern was at 5:30. I've run with them all but have stuck with Rt 16 Tuesday and Thursday.

I put out a Einstein Play Gym with a whale attached to it. Yesterday it was not on the sales floor anywhere. I hope no one is holding on to it for Saturday or Sunday....

Allison or Christine Bennett could probably help you. It may have sold but had to be manually entered and if that's the case it won't show as sold on your report as of yet.
So in all serious I'm going to find a gym relatively close to my house sometime after work. Anyone want to come/be a work out buddy/has suggestions on what gum would be...

24 hours a day 25$ a month, sweat room included and all classes are included. They don't teach any form of actual martial art but any gym you find that has those will definitely charge you extra for them either way. They do have turbo kick included as well as a group lift class (both free with subscription) and both will help in fighters development of endurance speed and strength but if you really want to learn boxing with any real decency or comprehension of actual form and technique you're going to want an actual boxing studio. If Boxing I would suggest Summit Boxing Club in Puyallup. If you want to diversify a bit Evolution MMA is right here in Tacoma and they don’t fuck around. Both will get you in great shape and teach you realistic and well rounded self defence but both are going to be much more expensive than a gym membership.
