I'm looking for internet service options/advice/experience for our home in Sun Cove. Anyone have advice?
Lynn I. replied:
We have fibre coming into our house from the street. My husband dug a trench and put in conduit. PUD connects it to their box on the street and Localtel provides our service. $43.95 a month. Localtel 509-888-8888.
Brandon F. replied:
Genext sold to localtel as well. The fibre has been great. Many times faster than the fastest bandwidth on the west side. http://m.wenatcheeworld.com/.../localtel-buys-part-of.../
Alzira Z. replied:
Jack- call Michael Dean and he will give you all the advice and do all the set up with Locatel for you...he's done several homes...you can reach him at 206-979-4116 next week when he's back at Sun Cove.
Alzira Z. replied:
call Michael Dean at 206-619-2252 and he will set it up for you...he's done several in the neighborhood and has references. Lynn- I think Mike helped you bring the fiber and connected you to Locatel who by the way is GREAT!!!
Alzira Z. replied:
Sorry- 1-206-979-4116 is the correct phone number
Chuck P. replied:
Envision just sold to local tel. 888-8888. It's wireless to Wenatchee where it ties into fiber. They are currently doing some eq upgrades to provide more bandwidth.
Looking for recommendations/options for internet service in Sun Cove. Thanks!
Darrin W. replied:
There is good service through Douglas County - but it's $250 (used to be more!) to get connected and you need to bury your own conduit if you are doing the fiber connection. http://www.dccn.net/Default.aspx
Alzira Z. replied:
Jenny- call my husband Michael at 206-619-2252 and he will get you connected ... best provider is LOCATEL!
Karen H. replied:
Alzira Zollo, can LOCATEL be put on hold for winter. We only do from April to Oct at the Cove.
Lynn I. replied:
Call Locatel - 888-8888. Love every chance I get to say or type that # !!!!! lol
Does anyone have internet service from a company other than Century Link? If so, who?
For those that have CL, is it worth the price they ask for it?
Thanks!
Roselin A. replied:
Try HughesNet, they offer price around $70 or more (855) 291-3175
Seems I read on this page before that there was a new Internet service out here? Centurytel/Centurylink are telling people they no longer service this area. Only...
Darlene T. replied:
Goodby Diana Savenye
Donna M. replied:
Diana Savenye - I think there are options available like Verizon, but they are not cheap. Since we are still maintaining two households, we will put up with the unreliable Clear Wire service for now to save a few bucks, but even that isn't inexpensive. Hopefully when we get moved to the island fulltime, we will have better options, or at least we won't have to maintain two internet accounts.
I'm sorry if I asked this question before, but here goes. What is the best company to get internet service with? We should be closing on our house in a couple weeks....
Jeannie G. replied:
Thank you all for the input. I really am going to need Internet service because my family is scattered all over, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Houston, and So Cal.
