Looking for good gunsmith recommendations for the Tampa area Hey all!
If anyone happens to know of a reputable gunsmith in Tampa/St. Pete area I'd greatly appreciate...

Well the ones at Shooters World seem decent in my experience with them. Honestly can't tell if they would have the ability to work on older firearms though. Could always call and ask.

I would not recommend Shooter's World gunsmiths. Shoot me a PM if you want details. I would call Marcus at Marshall's Firearms. It's a small shop, but he knows what he's doing and isn't too expensive. He is in Oldsmar. 813-679-9345. I have no business affiliation with him, but he has helped me out in the past.

Doyl if I'm spelling his name right at a1-pawn in Hillsborough is a really good guy he's been around for a long time. I've known him for years and always send him my oldies.

SL Gunworks. Scott is well known amoungst the gun groups in the area. He is an actual gunsmith (shooters world and any other "store" smiths are only good for installing accessories and cleaning, not for serious repairs). He machined my out-of-spec gas piston for my vz2008/58 for less than what a new part would cost. http://slgunworks.com/index.html

Stay far away from the hack on Ulmerton in Largo....I think it's called Iron Sight. He might be ok for little stuff, but anything that requires modifications, you might as well hand a monkey a hammer and your gun.

I used [McCord & Son Guns](http://mcx55.angelfire.com/) (shitty website warning) to fix two of my guns that I thought were toast. He does exceptional service and is very friendly. I used him primarily for FFL transfers and every time I went there I stayed for about an hour shooting the shit and getting educated on gunsmithing stuff. This guy is incredible. The only reason I stopped is because I moved about 8 hours away.

Tampa Arms Company. The owner Rich is a great dude and he's still dealing with the robbery fall out so the money is well appreciated.
