Hi all! Any recommendations for a doctor for moms after we are no longer under our midwives care? Struggling with clogged milk ducts, sleeping etc. and looking for a...
Thanks, ladies! It's true: the midwives can take care of anything that is well-woman related including your annual exams. However, we do have rather limited well-woman appointments (compared to prenatal appointments), and it can take a couple of weeks to get in. So we recommend that you also get set up with a primary care provider who can care for any of your family members---El Rio has several family practice docs across the system who really are interested in family health and integrative care. Shout out to Mama's Latte and Milk & Honey lactation services---all those ladies are really wonderful lactation consultants.

Olga Ryan, yes, i need a family doctor. can you let me know which doctors you were thinking of at El Rio? I'm also going to Milk & Honey but need an MD.
Olga R. replied:
I recommend starting with where you are in town: I think Congress, Southwest, Northwest and El Pueblo are the main sites with "open panels" (meaning docs trying to establish their population). Calling the main El Rio line may be easiest at 670-3909.
Hey guys so need help. Anybody know a family doctor who can help with pneumonia? Its for a close friend, er not an option.
Jory M. replied:
I know the ER isn't an option, but urgent care would be best. Contrary to what most think, they are not the same thing. May also be cheaper. Worked for a medical practice management company and doctors charge whatever they want and it can get very pricey. Does this person have insurance? I highly recommend Urgent Care Associates. There's one on swan and Pima. They're great and not SUUUUPER pricy. Just my opinion
Anyone know of a good family doctor that is willing to take new patients that are on Medicare? I need some referrals for my mom.

Tucson peoeples: I'm looking for a general physician/family doctor. Any recommendations?
Sharon B. replied:
I really like Dr Selwyn. He's an internist and has a practice on the east side of town.
Arthur R. replied:
Thanks, Sharon - I'm hoping to find someone either on the west side or central Tucson, but I'm most concerned about finding a good doc that takes my insurance. Trying to dig up doctor reviews, etc around Tucson has proven nearly impossible and I'd much rather take a personal recommendation - so I might give Dr Selwyn a call!
Any one know of a good primary care doctor that listens an is willing to help with your issues? Also on the Northwest side of town. Oh and is a family doctor
Melissa J. replied:
