Hey Tucson alumni - I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for an eastern/holistic/naturopathic medical practitioner in Tucson? My mom has a recurring health issue...

For Homeopathy I recommend Dr's Flagler. They've been practicing in Tucson for over 30 years. http://www.drflagler.com/ For acupuncture, I recommend Sunny White: http://sonjawhite.com/

Hi Jay, Dan's recommendation looks great. Also, with the UofA and Dr. Weil's Integrative Medicine program there, perhaps you can find someone within or an MD graduate from to help give further opinions and care for your Mom. Here's a link to a clinic that the Integrative Medicine center has in Tucson. I've never been there, but I follow Dr. Weil closely and really like his approach and teachings. The website also has Doctors listed that have taken some Integrative Medicine and are practicing in Tucson: http://integrativemedicine.arizona.edu/clinic/index.html
Any recommendations for a good Family Doctor in Tucson? You might remember me, I recently posted if anyone had recommendations for a good Psychiatrist here in Tucson.....

I've heard good things about Dr. Tooley. Also Dr. David Meyer on Craycroft. We really like him!

Dr. Leslie Willingham of AZ Community Physicians on Wilmot Rd. is a super doc. She spent 25 min just talking with me one day, went to check on her other patients for a few minutes & then came back to finish my appointment. Her staff is really nice & they do blood draws right there in the office. Here's another thread on that from 2 yrs ago https://www.reddit.com/r/Tucson/comments/1 ultd1/good_general_practitioner_or_family_doctor_in/

Maria Bustamante. She's a Nurse Practitioner, but she's really awesome. She's part of TMC One, the office is the Knight office which is like Grant/Craycroft.
Sorry this is not strange. I'm asking for a friend that was too embarrassed to ask. Does anybody know a good psychiatrist that takes access?
Ann W. replied:
Dr. Bupp. Not sure where he's practicing

Nothing to be embarrassed about. But https://www.facebook.com/850122101743189Codac Behavioral Health on Alvernon has a great Dr named Laura. Wouldn't see anyone but her though.
Any recommendations for a Psychiatrist in Tucson? Sort of a personal thing, but I'm not too shy. I moved down from Phx and I'm in need of getting my medication refilled...

Look up [The Aleph Center](http://www.alephcenter.com/) (Wilmot/Tanque Verde/Pima area) and give them a call. If they don't have a psychiatrist on staff, they will be able to give you a couple names of offices that do. Everyone there is pretty awesome.
Elfephant replied:
If you can see or just talk to them the Uofa has pointed me in a good direction in the past. Best of luck

I have a psych appointment with cope on the 19 th! I'll let you know How it goes

Your regular doctor will probably refill a non-controlled medication you've been on for a while. But since I'm on a controlled medication (stimulants for ADHD), if you're looking for a psychiatrist I can recommend COPE, which I've been using for a while now for exactly this reason. It seems like most of their work is geared toward Medicaid patients, but they take a lot of private insurance (I have BCBS too) and were very helpful when I was trying to set up an appointment.
I don't know how good their care is if you *aren't* already on a drug that works for you, because I see them for a couple of minutes at a stretch, but I only have good things to say about the interactions we do have. When my insurance changed and the copay for specialist visits went way up, they offered to start seeing me every three months, instead of once a month, and writing three prescriptions at a time, which none of my previous doctors (who were more than happy to make my insurer pay for a visit each month) had been willing to do. (This may not seem like a big deal, but Schedule II drugs suck.) I've been to their 5th/Craycroft and Golf Links offices, and both are good.
is she in serious competition w/ the tanning booth mom or is this her natural state w/ blue contacts? if it's the former, she'd better get to a psychiatrist,...
Thank you so much for the add. Does anybody have a good psychiatrist they go to here in the Tucson area? I won't bore anyone with my long story but I've been looking for...
