I just didn't want Dr. James Tooley! He is seriously an idiot...no joke! I don't know how he has a license. He told me one time that you can't get the flu twice in a season when I went to him years back and had the flu....I had the flu FOUR times that season.

Hey Tucson alumni - I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for an eastern/holistic/naturopathic medical practitioner in Tucson? My mom has a recurring health issue...
Dan G. replied:
For Homeopathy I recommend Dr's Flagler. They've been practicing in Tucson for over 30 years. http://www.drflagler.com/ For acupuncture, I recommend Sunny White: http://sonjawhite.com/
Cathy K. replied:
Hi Jay, Dan's recommendation looks great. Also, with the UofA and Dr. Weil's Integrative Medicine program there, perhaps you can find someone within or an MD graduate from to help give further opinions and care for your Mom. Here's a link to a clinic that the Integrative Medicine center has in Tucson. I've never been there, but I follow Dr. Weil closely and really like his approach and teachings. The website also has Doctors listed that have taken some Integrative Medicine and are practicing in Tucson: http://integrativemedicine.arizona.edu/clinic/index.html

Wow! Lots of recommendations. That's nice. I like my primary care doctor, Anthony Stazzone with UMC, North Hills. He's an internal med dr.
Karen G. replied:
Dr. Daniel Graybill. He's awesome and has an amazing PA too. They have X-rays and lab work right there in their office if the need ever arises.
Mike J. replied:
Dr. Mark Wolfson. Best of the best.
Julie C. replied:
I don't think Dr Adler is taking new patients. Are you not happy with Dr Galasso? If you decide to go with Dr Graybill (who is always on time by the way) you will need permission from Dr Galasso to change PCP's because they work in the same office. Yes, I work at Camp Lowell Medical Specialists as you might recall.
Denise C. replied:
Dr. Leslie Willingham. I just switched to her earlier this year and I have been highly impressed.
Charlotte V. replied:
Dr. Daniel Graybill is mine also. Appt's always on time because if your late they cancel you to keep on schedule. He also spends the time one on one and is very through.
Julie C. replied:
Your friends speak truth about Dr Graybill. Dr Wolfson, Dr Willingham and Dr Giles. I am seeing a new PCP today that was recommended by a friend at work and is also with ACP. We have 54 offices so it's hard to steer away from them. His name is Dr C...See More

OK, two GREAT doctors. 1 st, my own doctor, Dale Wheeland, 520.544.2622. I've been with him for 15 years, fantastic doctor! 2) my mother's doctor, 520.298.2319. I'd go with him in a heartbeat if I wasn't already Dr. Wheeland's patient. Both really listen, they don't rush you. Dr. Boyed is a joy to work with, funny, delightful.

Anyone have any recommendations for primary care doctors in Tucson?
I need a new primary care physician and want someone who is going to help me be a HEALTHY vegan, not...
Lisa C. replied:
Yes, Ted Crawford in Oracle (Sun Life). He is a healthy vegan and wants all his patients to be, also. http://www.sunlifefamilyhealth.org/blog/post/post/28 He's also a super kind person, too. Very encouraging!
Lisa C. replied:
The website and office appear a lot more "traditional" than Dr. Crawford is in real life! I was worried at first, but everyone there has been very kind to my whole family and very understanding of our unique needs. We've only been there for physicals a couple of times (two teenage daughters, plus my husband and myself), as we don't have any issues right now. He is very encouraging about our vegan lifestyle.
Do any of you have a primary care doctor that you recommend? Especially looking for one that has a more natural/preventative approach...
Angela H. replied:
We use Dr. Melissa Ray at Orange Grove Family Practice for everyone but my older daughter (19) who prefers Nancy Flavata the Nurse Practitioner there. Dr. Ray respects our decision to not vaccinate our youngest and she's not a pill pusher. In fact she's initiated getting my grandmother off a few of the meds that her previous Dr had her on that she felt weren't necessary. Turns out, she was right!

Dr Judy Gianna
Stephanie S. replied:
Olga Ryan, I just tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Aparicio, but she is no longer with El Rio. Do you by chance have any other recommendations?
Sarah M. replied:
Rachel Gordon at Abundant Health! She does family practice. She is an advocate for immunizations, but is good with delayed and staggered schedules for them.
Olga R. replied:
Try Dr. Kathleen Aparacio at El Rio's El Pueblo clinic! She's a D.O. and trained in Dr. Weil's integrative medicine clinic here at the U.
Angela T. replied:
Dr Murray, he's east at tanque Verde and bear canyon. I love that hes very blunt and honest.
