I've taken my kitty to Dr Chris Tom at McKenzie Veterinary Services on Carey Road at Tillicum (next to the 7-11 on the corner). I've been impressed with his thoroughness and his non-rushed manner as he carefully explained everything we needed to know. There is lots of free parking in the lot beside them, it's wheelchair accessible, and the front desk staff are very friendly, too. They have an impressive website which gives you a virtual tour (if you want) and there are several vets working there, which means they offer awesome hours - open 7 days per week, including until 8 pm M-Thu, 5/6 weekends. They also offer mobile services where they come to you and can give a wide variety of care in your home! Of course it costs more, but if you have very anxious pets or perhaps a few, it might be worth it for you to have them come to you! Check out their website and see if it suits your needs. I'll be going back. http://mckvets.com/

Dr Poon is great!
Devo D. replied:
I go to Chris Collis at Gleview Animal Hospital, but it's out in Langford. They are fantastic though.
Carrie H. replied:
Dr. Kam Brar of Lifeline Animal Clinic is fantastic, very patient, takes his time, and prefers the cheapest method of treatment! I like Dr.Macartney of McKenzie Clinic too - but steer clear of Dr.Rae who was beyond disappointing, very dismissive, didn't listen, but sure knew pricing for things we didn't require!

Does anyone know of a good Optometrist in the Victoria area? I need new glasses and a new prescription, so I am looking for recommendations. Thanks! :-)
Robbyn S. replied:
On-line,Clearly Contacts is a new and less expensive way of purchasing new glasses
Roger T. replied:
I have been going to them since I came to Victoria, 1983(?) and always have had good service. I used to see Dr. Eitutis but last time I was there he was still recovering from his sking accident.
Stephanie T. replied:
I like Dr. Christopher Snow at South Island optometry.
Darlene A. replied:
Dr Poon is who I see. I like him. And I get my glasses from Costco.
Cammie S. replied:
I also go to Dr Poon (Hudson building). He's open long hours. Cant' comment on his prices as I've never looked elsewhere. I got my glasses from Diamond Optical (douglas St). If I remember correctly my glasses were $400. and they are progressive (yes I'm old)
Anybody know a good optometrist in Westshore? Ours is awesome but she's way out on Sherbourne
Laurel P. replied:
mine is at Admirals Walk. Been with her for years. Not quite Westshore but I think she is worth the drive. Dr. Rushforth at Admirals Walk Optometry Clinic.
Sasha C. replied:
Dr. Joslin's office on goldstream, multiple doctors all really good.
Carrie B. replied:
Like Sasha said Dr. Joslin and associates on goldstream. They are all good.
Dr. Simons in the Mayfair optometric clinic it's across from the Mayfair Mall on Douglas St. They also cut the lenses there one of the few places in Vict. that does that.
Michelle G. replied:
Dr. Poon! Now in the old Hudson's Bay building - Inner Harbour Optometry
