Compass is an exceptional company and although I am a Realtor the best most experienced agent I know is [Ali / Alasgar Farhadov](https://www.compass.com/agents/alasgar-farhadov/). Not only is he a Realtor but he is a closing company so he knows the finest details of every transaction. He also has been investing for the past 15 years including the most notable [deal ](https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/man-who-built-a-24-million-mansion-along-potomac-river-loses-his-battle-to-keep-it/2016/12/20/2f7966a6-bcaa-11e6-91ee-1adddfe36cbe_story.html). He can tell you the steps to build your own home on the right land with 15 different builders and who he recommends. He can find you where you will get the most for your money within your criteria. He currently has several listings in Great Falls and McLean. While he enjoys investment properties it is the first time home buyers who are the most joy to introduce home ownership to.

We hired Marco Ovando from a friend’s recommendation and we were very happy with him. He showed us like a total of 150+ houses (on some days, we got to see 12 in a single day, he was very efficient with tour schedules).
He also speaks Spanish fluently and so we got to talk to some contractors working on the houses (and get their honest opinion on the house condition). His father is also a contractor so Marco knows a lot about remodeling and construction (like he knew when a house had a bad add-on or shoddy remodeling job that we weren’t aware of).
Edit: we were also first time buyers and Marco was very patient (we knew nothing about the house buying process basically). He was also never pushy and gave his honest opinions.

Dennis Poulsen is your guy. He has helped me and my wife find the last two places we rented and eventually got us set up with the home we now own. He breaks everything down in a simple easy that is easy to understand. He’s also just a really great guy

https://www.yeonasandshafran.com/realestate/agent/jonathan-philip-shafran/ Jonathan Shafran. He knows all those areas really, really well and will work very hard for you. I’ve used Yeonas and Shafran before, will absolutely use them again, and highly recommend them. They are even working with my parents right now as well (that’s how much I like them). Definitely check them out!

[Misty Faulkner ](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2 ahUKEwjwppX40 rfqAhXplHIEHeDgALwQtwIwAXoECAQQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FMistyFaulknerRealtor%2F&usg=AOvVaw2KjJrx5 q8PfzGYiMG7ZlEm) Is awesome! I work as a real estate admin and she’s honestly the best one I’ve worked with. She handles mostly first time home buyers and really does hold their hand throughout the whole process. She goes above and beyond to find perfect listings too - we’ve spent many hours together hand writing letters to homeowners for example lol

We worked with Tanya Johnson of Keller Williams and she was AMAZING!! We were first time buyers too and she clearly has SO MUCH experience. She literally talked her way into (our now) a house that wasn't even listed yet and we bought it before it went on the market. (The owner was planning on selling, but we bought it a month or two earlier than he planned on listing.) I cannot say enough good things about her. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

My fiancé and I used [Dan Schwartz](https://www.realtor.com/realestateagents/dan-schwartz_arlington_va_2762206_810144351) and he was fantastic. He listened to what we were looking for, didn't show us anything that didn't meet our requirements or fit in our budget, and was just on the ball in general. He walked us through the entire process (we were first time home-buyers) step-by-step, had great connections for the inspection, so forth. We closed in two weeks and he didn't miss a beat with the paperwork, etc. I'd highly recommend him.
