We booked through a company called ibookacar.com not sure if it still exists but the were really cheap, they are basically a broker for all the rental companies. It looked a little dodgy, but we hired 2 vehicles during our 4 week trip and had absolutely no issues.

You can one way car hire Arizona, Cali, Nevada, and not incur costs but otherwise$$$$ car rental.com is good. I got a mystery car dealer (revealed after paying outright) and paid $500 saving $500. For 16 days. Don't get insurances. Covered by your travel (should be check). Get GPS!
Anyone know of cheap car rental deals in DC? Seems I can't find a 3 day cheaper than $150 without gas, tax & insurance. I'd rather just spend $200 and get a ZipCar....

I use Wheels2Go. Ricky or his wife will meet you with your name on a sign after you leave the luggage pickup area. They will help you with your luggage and bring you to your vehicle in the airport parking lot. After signing the paperwork you off to go in 5 minutes. On deprture day they will meet you in front of the departure building. If you don't need the vehicle for the whole time of vacation, they will deliver and pickup at your hotel. Great people to rent from. www.Wheels2GoAruba.com
