Phil Thomas or Giles Gibson are two who I've worked with a lot. Good guys, great politics.
Darren H. replied:
A little outside what you're looking for specifically, but we have a guy at Missouri School of Law named Doug Abrams who has done a lot of writing on sports ethics, might have interesting perspective.
Justin Zelikovitz is good for wage/hour violations. Your friend can also check out the DC Employment Justice Center (for anything employment related) or the Washington Lawyers' Committee (for discrimination).
Peter R. replied:
1) Rick T Seymour rickseymourlaw.com (the absolute best discrimination attorney anywhere and excellent for anything employment related. he has a useful website that u should look at before deciding if it's worth it) 2) Elaine or John Bredehoft (also excellent but I would not hire anyone else from their firm) CBC-law.com 3) Alan Lescht Dcemploymentattorney.com These guys are the best of the best and and it will likely cost you $400-500 bucks for an hour long consultation. Make sure they will take your case on a contingent fee (most will require some sort of retainer but if the defense knows you are paying hourly they will just try to rack up your fees until you are completely broke) I have a few more if you want a longer list, but this is who I would hire if it happened again and I wanted to scare them into a quick settlement.

Shelly-Ann S. replied:
John Connor or Jeff Morneau are good
Jocelyn C. replied:
Layla Taylor WNE alum and wonderful attorney!
Van J. replied:
John Connor is great for employees side. I'm pretty sure he only represents employees. I'm assuming Marshall Morriarty is no longer in practice if he and John are no longer together.
Amy R. replied:
FYI Aimee, Layla and Meghan do both sides. I've had cases opposite them. As an employer-side only attorney, I am going to message you. I find some people listed as really weak in litigation (i.e., I can easily push them around and they fold)....
Amy R. replied:
If you want tough, Suzanne Garrow or Tani Sapierstein. When I have cases opposite them, I know it'll be a battle and they won't fold.
Amy R. replied:
Van Johnson Marshall is record counsel in one of my current cases... he must still be practicing!
[For a friend in DC area] - if anyone can recommend a good employment attorney - send to me off line.
Carole L. replied:
Peter Broida, absolutely the best if for federal employment, he has literally written the book, he is more than reasonable in price and Arlington based, highly recommend him, if it is not fed, he can probably provide a referral for a good attorney, also Passman Kaplan is excellent
