Anyone have a small appliance repairman recommendation? Washer blew up!

Waterloo Appliance Store on Frobisher, they are great!

Jason Cave at Local Pro Appliance repair. He is a friend of ours and a super nice guy. He used to work for Waterloo Appliance before going out on his own. He has fixed a couple of our appliances and done a great job! localproappliance@hotmail.com or 519-498-7489

We always used Bates, but they're close now. We tried Pioneer Appliance Service not long ago for our fridge and they were great! 579-5910 They were recommended by a neighbour and I'd use them again
Appliance repair recommendation Anyone have any recommendations for someone to repair appliances? Example washer, dryer.

My own experience with two different appliances and homes (mine and my fiancé’s) was that the quote for the repair was (kind of) reasonable (half the cost of a new machine), but once they were in to do the repair they “found” a second problem with the appliance (a leak in the dishwasher once it was repaired and running, and a circuit board in my stove that wouldn’t have linked up) which wound up costing nearly as much as getting new versions of both. This was the KW appliance repair but I’ve since heard a few people commiserate that their appliance repair wound up the same way.

[http://www.localproappliance.com/](http://www.localproappliance.com/) I have used him twice. He was great. Even charged me less than expected once because the repair was easier than expected (which I had no way of knowing)
recommended cheap appliance repair people? I need to get my stove and fridge repaired and I need a good recommendation for a good cheap repair person or place
adamcory replied:
Google it and see if you can figure out what is wrong. Fridges are usually pretty simple to repair, or they are so complex that its not worth it financially. Stoves are one I do not usually mess with (unless it's a fuse, or something not to do with heating) and will buy new. What is wrong with them, and how old are they? Maybe I can help you figure out your best choice. Source: I am a landlord who owns a lot of appliances and looks after his own properties.

City appliances in Cambridge is worth a shot. I cant remember the prices exactly but they were very nice and I always try to support small, family run businesses in the region.

YouTube. I fixed our fridge (thermostat switch), oven (element connector), dryer (thermal fuse), and washing machine (rubber belt) for under $10 each in parts and basic hand tools + $15 multimeter.

If you decide you can't do it yourself based on posts here, we always use Waterloo Appliance Service and they are great - rates are on their web page. At least you are only paying one service call for two appliances. Any chance your appliances are in warranty? http://www.waterlooapplianceservice.com/
Chesmu replied:
Had a guy named Glen come by from action appliance. Give them a Google, not entirely sure what their rates are but 100% worth looking into

I used Local Pro Appliance to fix my dishwasher - I was happy. He was honest and fast and cheaper than the other places I called.

Very hard to find. Guys want $100 simply to show up at your door and 50% of time it's not economical to do the repair. Source: I worked for GE/Moffat in Hamilton in a previous life. 90% of appliances are built ultra cheap. Good luck.
JayWalkerIT replied:
I once had crappy appliances and almost no money. I also had a pickup truck and found that working appliances can be found all day on kijiji for free or cheap if you can pick them up. Even if you spend a bit of money it's cheaper to get a working used appliance than paying someone else to fix your existing one. And like others said... google the problem and see if you can fix yourself for really cheap.
Looking for recommendations for appliance repair. Specifically washing machine. Non-smoker and needs to be willing to not use scents. pic.twitter.com/z9S1H5MEVQ

I’ve used http://www.snowsappliance.com twice now. He was quick and helpful both times. (and I guess smells ok)
Can anyone recommend an appliance repair person that services LG?
Elisabeth M. replied:
If it's out of warranty, I would check with Waterloo Appliance Service. They're on Frobisher, and are excellent! I've had them on a couple of occasions, and they even helped me change a jammed water filter on my fridge (not part of the service call) at no charge!
Nathalie J. replied:
Metro Karges is great too, not sure if they do LG's though. Worth the call to find out.
Looking for an honest appliance repair service. Our Kenmore clothe washer just died and we have a 2 week old at home, need to have it up and running asap!
