We were told when we moved here that Parker Co has some of the strictest rabies laws in the state & that seems to be true. Here is the state statute on rabies, which essentially allows individual counties to make their own laws about it. Strict, indeed & hope it all works out. I don't really have a recommendation but I will say that I would not use Dr. Grote. Had a similar situation a few years back and he lost our dog! Took us almost a week to find her and then had to start quarantine all over.

You can do puppy shots your self just not rabies. It's like 7 dollars for the combo shot at Tractor Supply. And Rabies is about 12 dollars at the clinics that are held often.

South Bowie drive animal hospital is who I use. Dr Beucanan (sp?) He is really nice, their prices are fair and he will only do surgery if necessary. I believe they take payments. He's not quick to do an unnecessary surgery just to get your cash. I've had experience with just specifically that. My pup had an old tick wound that wound up infected and he did everything possible instead of surgery.

I work at Aledo vet and ALL of the doctors are incredible! They have after hours calls just leave a voice mail. If you need to do payments apply for Care Credit. It works for pets as well as human care.
