I'm glad to see Hipp getting so many recommendations. Steve Hipp was wonderful to work with. He was very honest, and gave me a full range of options with our roof....it was my choice between spot fixes and a total re-do. He was not pushy at all, I found his pricing very fair, and his crew was very respectful of our property during the project. I highly recommend Hipp Roofing!!

Tico Roofing. We used them in Dec. I had quotes from numerous roofers but they were not only the most reasonable but we had a unique issue, which I had done some research on, and they knew exactly what to do. Watch out for Deegan. There are two Deegan roof companies. One is good and one has numerous claims against them. I picked all of the roofers off of Angie's List.

Has anyone had their roof replaced via homeowner's insurance for damage due to recent windstorms? Looking for referrals for roofing companies and also generally curious...

Abc roofing found our wind damage and insurance foot the bill. Loved the man we worked with and they did a great job

Bone Dry Roofing really went to bat for us against our insurance to have the roof replaced. Eventually our insurance agreed. They installed the new roof today.
Jessica W. replied:
I have Travelers insurance and they are replacing mine as well as my fence. I'm using Preferred Roofing. Your insurance company will probably only cover for 3 tab shingles but a good company will upgrade you to a dimensional shingle. If you lay over (assuming you only have one layer) there should be more than enough money for the upgrade. Many homes are getting bought. The toughest sell seems to be State Farm. Have a contractor there when you schedule your adjuster
Karen T. replied:
We are in the process of filing a claim. Home Value Restoration is who we are working with for the roofers. They are going to great lengths to do the talking and try to get us a new roof and gutters. Best part would be is they upgrade the shingles and gutters for free. We claimed for wind damage but adjuster was just here and he said to file for hail instead. We have lots of dents on the shingles and gutters. Crossing my fingers!
Aaron S. replied:
Mike DeSalvo is another recommendation for everyone
So many People are with roofing are coming around and we do have hail damage and insurance is covering it, (minus a large deductible) But would love to know who is best...

We will be using Elbert Construction, call Scot Heminger (317)219-3797. He's great to work with and will give you his honest opinion. They are master elite for GAF roofing products. Like Mike Clark said, you need to look at the materials. Also, if you decide to change the color of your roof, check with HOA first. Because if you don't, they will make you take down the shingles at your own cost to put new ones within their color scope. Most likely what's on your roof is a 3-tab shingle. What I like about Scot was that he explained the difference and terms and where it sits on the roof. He took the time to explain as opposed to throw a bunch of jargon at you and hope you forget so they can charge you with more.
