I had the same problem and received quotes from two handymen that told me that it would cost me up to $1,000 to fix because the valve was worn down and they had to break through the wall. I asked a reputable company to look into it and I glad I did. They fixed the whole thing for $220. Kyle plumbing 1 888 405 0770. They charge $90 for the call, had the parts in their truck and fixed it in 45 minutes. I am learning that many handymen in the area are out to rip us off. Good luck!
