Jolly Pond on Longhill is also well-regarded.
Fred B. replied:
I highly recommend Colonial Veterinary Clinic. They are on Ironbound Road and I think the closest vet to the Powhatan Secondary area other than the one in PetsMart.
Dave L. replied:
If you can get in, COLONIAL VET in FIVE FORKS is the one. Hard to get pets in there, they are very busy.
Heather H. replied:
I use Colinial Vet Clinic on Ironbound Rd in Williamsburg. They are wonderful to my older dog. She can be very feisty and sometimes hard to handle. She's a 75 lb. Golden Retriever and they are very patient with her.

I'll second Godspeed, and they also have a boarding facility associated with the clinic. St. Francis Pet Resort & Rehab Center is the name.
Shirley K. replied:
I love Dr Avritt at the Toano Animal clinic for my 2 cats. She's wonderful! I also have a great pet sitter. The can message me on my Facebook page and I'll share info. If they need a home, I'm also a Realtor.
Best vet in williamsburg that does not cost much ... thanks
Kimberly J. replied:
Dr. Gussman is fantastic. She helped me keep costs down with my hospice rescue, not requiring a bunch of expensive tests before treating his pain. Love her and Jolly Pond!
Jennifer L. replied:
Godspeed Animal Care is a most excellent practice, but, you will probably pay more than other places.

EspanaSilk is a water based all natural hypoallergenic line of grooming products that is amazing. I know some people on here use it and swear by it. I know I do. The antiseptic healing line is a miracle product. Just one use on my crested years ago and I was immediately sold. I wish I could hand you some just to try once. It has made a world of difference for my dogs and I have been recommending it for years. Www.PurpleDogShop.com
Hey guys, we live in Williamsburg and are kind of new to the area. What Veterinarian would you recommend? Thanks for any info.
Paula O. replied:
Middle Plantation Animal Hospital! Love Dr. Dunsmore&his staff!
Brittany B. replied:
New to Williamsburg?! If you're looking for a church, Upward Church is great!!
Joanna W. replied:
Middle Plantation Animal Hospital is great. It's a newer practice than some of the others in town, but Dr. Dunsmore has been practicing for years (previously at the vet practice in Hampton that treats animals at the Virginia Living Museum, the staff t old me). I really appreciated this practice because it was the only one in town I could find, when my chinchilla needed medical care, that actually treated exotics, but he's been very good with our cats also.
Cryssee P. replied:
Bay Rivers Veterinary Services (They come to you) Dr. Broz is great 804-938-8387 Prices are great too
Sarah S. replied:
I use Animal Clinic and Wellness Center on Penniman Road. Not the best prices, but not terrible either and I love Dr. DeWitt! My dog, who has fear aggression issues, loves going to the vet and whines in excitement when she goes. I also love that he is not pushy about things. He really listens and gives his honest opinion, but does not push doing something if you do not want to. That means a lot to me.
Scruffy D. replied:
Dr. Dewitt is not there anymore.
Dawn G. replied:
Dr Gussman at Jolly Pond. Reasonable prices and great bedside manner. Acres site treatment when needed and won't push for unnecessary blood work or tests
Lissa B. replied:
Dr. Banks at Tri county animal hospital in West Point is AMAZING and his rates are too.
Michelle B. replied:
Dr Dewitt and his wife opened up a new vet on Jamestown Rd in same shopping center as Habitat Restore. Williamsburg Veternary Clinic.

Clients of Dr. Dunsmore(Middle Plantation Animal Hospital) have followed him all the way from Hampton,Newport News & other areas!
Iwona K. replied:
Dr. Banks Tri-Countyanimal clinic in West Point is working very well for us. Nothing fancy to expect as a visual, I mean building or fancy waiting room etc. Very reasonable prices instead. Also no pressure to get your dog vaccines you do not wish or o ther treatments which other vets most likely will try to push on you to make up their revenue. I did try Godspeed, Anderson's corner, Animal Clinic and other ones. Spent big $$$ and was just disappointed. Unless you need to look for specialist (specific surgery) Dr. Banks is my recommendation. He recommended Anderson's corner when one of my dogs needed orthopedic surgery. It was done well but the bill hurt a lot. Also, good diet, the closest to their natural diet will keep you and your dog away from vets visits to start with.

I love my vet office. Anderson's Corner Animal Hospital.
Jennifer Z. replied:
Jolly Pond and Colonial Animal Clinic are the best!! I went to a vet in the Toano area and felt I was getting ripped off. After about 6 visits there with no improvement in my animal, we went to Jolly Pond and after the first visit she was cured.
Dawn G. replied:
Dr Gussman at Jolly Pond has always provided excellent care. She could have easily done agressive testing on our dog but instead went with the most conservative and noninvasive approach. That was all it took and we avoided major expenses.
Randa S. replied:
Williamsburg Vet hands down. They are amazing. They are Jamestown Rd in the same shopping center as Restore.

I board our dog at Andersons Corner. They have a large fenced in area and take the dogs out to play and they also get walked 2-3 times a day. And they will give shots while there.

We use Frontline Plus for Cleo and have never had a problem. That said "I" seem to have problems with ticks...found two on me so far in the past week. Frank is going to spray the yard...he used to do that in NJ too for our protection as well as for the dogs'.
Laura R. replied:
Katie Anne Brochu...years ago I read on line where Merial indicated how to know whether or not you're buying "real" Frontline over the internet. I've purchased from Entirely Pets for years and have never had a problem. What I do buy from the vet is heartworm medication....that's not guaranteed unless you purchase it from the vet.
