The emergency vet across from county grill misdiagnosed our senior dog, and she almost died. Dr. Mullen at Pine Meadow saw our pup 2 days later and did emergency surgery to save her. (She had pyometra, a 5 lb tumor on her uterus and the EV said she had a bladder infection) Also, The new emergency vet just up the road towards YC about a mile was great with one of our other dogs. To be transparent this did happen about 8 years ago and while Dr Mullen is still great at PM, we have switched to Anderson’s Corner vet in toano. They are AMAZING, and they are open 7 days a week.

The emergency vet on 17 is amazing. It's called Animal Emergency Center, I think. Dr. Stiff was amazing when my pup was sick. My regular vet prescribed stupid meds and he fixed the issues she was having.

I refuse to go back to banks after he told me I needed to put my puppy down because he refused to listen to what I had to say and he just turned out to have seperation anxiety. The Gloucester vet hospital across from Lowes is a few dollars more than doctor banks and they actually listen to what's wrong with your dog instead of insisting your puppy would have to be put down.

I've never had any issues with Dr Banks and I know many recuses that use him as well. No he's not the most talkative in the world. But I've been very happy the the care he has given my dogs. As well as the friends I have referred there.

If you're looking for a spay and neuter clinic, with basic types of visits, shots etc, the spay and neuter is the best, depending on weight of the dog, a large female spay is about $100 and they will fix a hernia for $25. A large male neuter, $60. With same repairs if necessary, ( smaller dogs are less). Shots are also more reasonable. Their phone number is. 804 694 0349. It might take a few calls to get an answer, and they are only open mon, tues, wed, they spay and neuter thurs, and fri. Call early! Hope this helps.

I use Dr. Banks too. I've never had a problem. They have always been great & the least expensive. I use to go to Gloucester Vet (by Lowe's) but they've gotten so expensive.

I take my dog to Dr Amanda Forgeng and Dr Carey Edwards at VCA Boulevard at the corner of Warwick Blvd. and Nettles Dr. They are wonderful docs, however, they are not the best prices around. I have heard great things about the doctor and the prices at Newport News Animal Hospital across from CNU.
