I've been going to https://www.facebook.com/513539312033301VCA Animal Medical Center for almost 20 years. They have had a lot of staff turnover and some less than stellar people from time to time. Hello I have been living with a vet who has PTSD for the past year and a half. I really would like to get him a service dog but I dont even know where to begin...
Becca S. replied:
Begin by talking with him, his therapist and/or psychiatrist. They will need to be willing to make a statement/prescribe the dog as treatment. My husband and I went through TADSAW, which pairs Vets with shelter dogs and the team works together toward service dog certification. I loved this process as it gives the Vet a task and allows for faster placement of a dog. Bart Sherwood is the contact at TADSAW. We were paired with our dog very quickly and began training rapidly. Best of luck to you and your Veterans.
