Dog needs Dental Work - recommendations?? My 30lb Corgi was having bad breath so I went to brush her teeth and discovered a cracked molar, split to the gum line. It's...

How old is she? If she's not an older dog (meaning, she won't need blood work monitoring and all that extra stuff they do for senior dogs), my vet "Companion Pet Clinic" in the U-district charges around $200 for it. Check out their yelp page, they've got really good reviews! My 10 year old got his tooth extracted there and it cost us about $300; the vet was actually nice enough to give us a hefty discount because she loved how pathetic our dog was, lol (he is a very swret but badly neglected dog before we got him).

I find that MyPet's Vet Clinic in Kirkland is very reasonably priced. It's a couple blocks from the 405. The only caveat is that they are a walk-in only clinic for exams, so there might be a wait, but they do schedule all surgical procedures. Thursdays are their least busy day they tell me.

Goodluck with that. Vet dental care seems to be insanely expensive everywhere. Banfield pet hospital has been the cheapest I can find for dental, was $130 for a cleaning and $75 for x-ray. They have locations all over, but I've been going to the renton one. Let me know if you find cheaper, I'm still looking myself. Also those prices were for cats, might be more for dogs.

http://www.banfield.com/Optimum-Wellness-Plans This has helped to mitigate some of the costs with my Dogs. They both get their teeth cleaned and brushed once a year, and if they need to do an extraction it is usually a lot cheaper, as your pet is already sedated. I hope this helps!

Good luck! My cattledog/lab mix broke his big molar in the same way...cracked horizontal along the gum line and had to have it removed. It cost us with cleaning) about $1,000 at [Eastside Veterinary Dentistry](http://www.eastsideveterinarydentistry.com/) (just a head's up so you know about this place and how expensive they are). I take my dog to Juanita Hills Animal Clinic for regular cleanings now...that runs about $300 without extractions.

I have no advice on this subject but I wanted to ask how you liked having a Corgi. My boyfriend is absolutely in love with them but we don't know anyone who has one so we can ask about them. Do they shed a lot? Bark a lot? Good luck with the dental work!!

**We had a cracked molar on our medium-sized dog that was not infected also that was recommended to get extracted rather than fixed. We go to Evergreen Veterinary Hospital in Kirkland 425-821-9040.** We have two 8-year-old dogs (rescues) who had never had their teeth done and last spring we took them there. The prices for everything were insanely good compared to other quotes we got. I recommended my mom take their chihuahua there and she gave them a (cheap) price that she could pay (as they nearly went bankrupt), and they charged her a penny less than that after tax. They will work with you, they really do care. We love, love, love them! Give them a try:)
