  ISO help for my cat. I noticed some swelling on the right side of his face yesterday, checked it out myself didn't see any wound, he didn't act like it was tender or causing pain. last night he was panting/ short quick breaths, gum color was good, got him to eat & drink a little, tried to check the swelling again got hissed,spat, & swatted at so most definitely my sweet boy is in major pain. he's NEVER done that before. we called the emergency vet but they wouldn't even look at him unless we paid $105 up front which if we had we would happily hand over to help our boy but my husband just started a new job so things are really tight. This morning he's still breathing the same but now he won't eat. He is about 2 yrs old utd on all his shots, we were told when we adopted him from the spca in June that he had feline HIV so he is and has been a strictly inside cat. Does anyone know of a veterinary clinic that takes payments or something?

  Shakespeare Animal Fund in Reno 775-342-7040 does one time $50. Also, contact Wylie Animal Rescue 833-2319. It may be a scorpion bite, we had one of those last year. Let me know how you are doing with funding and what vet you choose to go to. Elizabeth Norman
