If you were in Columbus Ohio I would recommend OSU VET hospital or MedVet, both have talented doctors and specialists. Sometimes you can get them to consult with your vet, if that is helpful.

Dr. Jacobs at CVCA in Towson. She sees my dog every 6 months for a heart murmur. Explains everything thoroughly. Highly recommended!

Try applying for Care Credit. I had to for all the ER visits and CVCA echocardiogram on one of my cats with HCM. It's really easy to apply online and it helps a lot with a year to pay off before any finance charges.
