Dr Brushert... John Hopkins. He's one of the best in the country
Susan K. replied:
I second that Stephen. As well as Dr. Schneider at Montgomery Orthopedics.
Derrick E. replied:
Thank you all for your kind recommendations! I went with Montgomery Orthopedics primarily because they had the earliest opening. They booked me with Dr. Hinkes. It's just a severely bruised knee, so It shouldn't be too difficult.
Susan K. replied:
Dr. Hinkes is great too. He is one of the original doctors who founded the practice. Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I broke my knee cap and my wrist (different times) and used Dr. Stephen Webber out of Capitol Orthopedics in Lanham (next to Dr's Hospital) both times. I think he's fantastic. He's warm, asks lots of questions, takes his time talking to you and does beautiful work. My sister broke her wrist just last month and she went to him also and was very pleased. That in itself was a miracle as nothing ever satisfies her...lol He has offices in Lanham, Clinton, and Bowie.

Dr. Ira Gelb at Potomac Valley Orthopedic in Columbia. Affiliated with Howard General/Johns Hopkins. He performed a total shoulder replacement for me two years ago. Amazing outcome! Would recommend him or his practice to anyone. Great rehab facility has well
Susan K. replied:
Montgomery Orthopedics is wonderful. A bit of a drive but the care and level of service will be worth it http://montgomeryorthopaedics.com/

A group in Bowie/Annapolis. Orthopedic Sports Medicine Center. Might have the 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd best doctors. I have seen Dr Bambrah and surgeon Dr Speciale. They are the best because the fixed my issues but some of the other doctors in the group are the 2 nd and 3 rd best.

Through some pretty awful results from slipping on ice last year, I found it's worth it to go to a specialized orthopedic surgeon who focuses on one part of the body. Setting a fractured arm is a very different process from hip replacement or a foot's stress fracture. I can't recommend The Orthopaedic Center enough. I have visited their Rockville and DC locations, had physical therapy through them, have coworkers who have used different doctors in the practice from me, and nothing but rave reviews. Worth the drive, especially after the subpar ortho care I received nearby before switching practices http://www.theorthocentermd.com/
Stephanie P. replied:
Dr.Theodore T. Manson is a excellent orthopedic surgeon. I had 2 total knee replacements with him, he practices out of University of Maryland Medical Center/ Shock Trauma. He also does surgery at St . Joseph Medical Center in Towson md.
Bob R. replied:
Anne Arundel Orthopedic Associates and James York, M.D. In particular. Closest of many offices is Odenton. Number is (410) 268-8862. He is outstanding and has over 25 years of experience. Also a leader of the state Orthopedics Association.
Flory L. replied:
Highly recommend Dr. Christopher Magee in Silver Spring if you need knee or hip surgery. He performed surgery on both my knees for different reasons. I also agree that you should find a doctor that specializes in the part of the body you need help with.
Stephen B. replied:
Dr Peerless at Montgomery Ortho is the best doc ever
