I like Alan J. Pollack on Kenmore Ave in Alexandria (very close). He did my cataract surgery and is excellent.
David P. replied:
Dr. Doan is the best. I have seen her since my laser surgery in 2004. She gives a lot of attention and really explains things. The office has all the newest technology and she gives a very thorough exam. She has a very soothing voice when you have to decide if one or two is better, or three or four is more clear

Melanie M. replied:
I really like Dr. Kenneth Levine, in Burlington. He was a great consultant for my LASIK surgery, which he did not push me towards, but did advise me to go to an excellent surgeon at TLC in Waltham and everything went smoothly. He also told me which LASIK practices to stay away from.
Mindy P. replied:
Dr. Clifford Michaelson is excellent. He has offices in Winchester and Andover. http://health.usnews.com/doctors/clifford-michaelson-446744

Looking for a good eye doctor in the area. Does anyone have great recommendations? Thanks!
Eliot K. replied:
I've been visiting Dr. Goldberg's practice off of Duke St/395 S since college. There are two main optometrists, Dr. Goldberg and Stetekluh. They accept a variety of health care plans and the medical work is very thorough. Only criticism is you may want to stick with the exams and shop around with your prescription for lenses or glasses, unless your health plan has really good extra vision benefits. http://www.drgoldbergod.com/
Tricia B. replied:
I have been going to Dr. Adamopoulos for about 18 years. She & her staff are excellent. They are in Del Rey https://www.facebook.com/myeye2 eye/
Looking for an eye doctor for my daughter. We were seeing Roy Baker who retired recently. Any recommendations for Arlington or surrounding towns?
Erin S. replied:
Ophthalmologist? Dr. Mantagos at Children's in Waltham (& I think Lexington too) is awesome. My 4.5 year olds have been seeing him since they were babies. We saw other people in the BCH practice & I prefer him.

When I called Dr. Baker's number, an automated message said that the number had been changed to ..... When I called that number, it was an eye doctor in Somerville. They sent me my records, as I have scheduled an appt. with the Lex. Eye Assoc. in Arlington.

Hi! Can I have your recommendations for a great ophthalmologist. I am looking for a second opinion. Pretty much anywhere in the greater Boston area is fine. Thanks!

Dr. Clifford Michaelson in Winchester is excellent.
Kathleen M. replied:
Is there a specialty within Ophthalmology that is needed? I've been extremely happy with Dr Mark Kuperwaser at Beth Israel Deaconess. This was for a complicated cataract surgery other doctors didn't want to touch.
Eve D. replied:
I’ve gone to Lexington Eye Associates (offices in Lexington and Arlington) for years, and have always been happy.
Brian K. replied:
MERSI - Dr. Stephen Foster or Dr. Stephen Anesi. The best!
I need a recommendation for an eye doctor please, I have had enough of the "car salesmen attitude" of my current doctor
Melanie M. replied:
I really like Kenneth Levine, in Burlington. He is very good and also a nice, laid back person. I saw me through my LASIK surgery, which went very well, but used to help me with contact lenses. As a bonus, his office is located next to a good diner, and near a great used book store and a Sister Thrift down the street (in case you also like any of those things).

Hello, does anyone know a good eye doctor? Preferably one that is open this weekend. Thanks!

It's not in Arlington, but I like Custom Eyes in Central Sq. Cambridge. I am pretty sure the optometrist works on weekends. You'd have to call. 617-349-3937

I know there was recently a post in regards to finding a local eye doctor and Lexington Eye was the one that was primarily recommended, I'm really not a fan of them I do...
Michele L. replied:
Lahey in Arlington on Broadway is pretty good. We go to Dr. Tanzer but there are other Dr.'s there too! Good Luck!
Christine M. replied:
I love Dr. Joanne Caruso in Watertown just over the Belmont line. She splits her time between 2 offices but is in Watertown on Saturdays.
Carol L. replied:
I also had my concerns about going to a big chain for an eye exam, but come to find out you're just going to a local eye doctor who happens to have their office in or near the chain store. IOW, they're not employees of the chain. We decided to give it a try and for several years, all 5 of us went to Pearle Vision in Burlington where we were all patients of Dr. Kenneth Levine (who we all liked). A while back we were notified that Dr. Levine had moved his practice to another part of Burlington, but none of us had had a need to go for a visit since. I'm curious to know why he moved out of the PV space. Two morals of the story: Though not in Arlington, I recommend Dr. Levine. And, don't necessarily fear the optometrist affiliated with a chain eyeglass store.
Robin E. replied:
Did you go to Lexington Eye Associates in Arlington or in Lexington? I've found the staff really nice in Lexington. If you need help with glaucoma and cataracts, you need an opthalmologist (an MD), not an optometrist or an optician, which is what you get at chain stores. Opthalmic Consultants of Boston (there are offices all over, I think Waltham is probably the closest) are also really good.
Carolyn P. replied:
Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB) has offices in Boston, Cambridge and Waltham. Most providers affiliated with Mass Eye and Ear (MEEI) and Mass General Hospital (MGH).
Looking for a good family eye doctor recommendation in Arlington. Any suggestions?
Elaine H. replied:
Dr Tanzer at Lahey Arlington. He is wonderful with kids.
Laura P. replied:
Lexington Eye Associates - Jeremy Kieval is a good friend of ours, he's out the Lex. office but they have an office in Arlington too!
Sue T. replied:
We all go to lexington eye associates office on mass ave between the center and east arlington. Jim Umlas is really great - so thorough and detailed. I have many issues and also see some of their specialists in lexington and Westford
Melissa V. replied:
Lexington Eye!
Susan R. replied:
Dr. Olivia Liao at Lexington Eye Associates, corner of Mass. Ave. and Bates Rd. Or really anyone there...
