It's simply a dial adjustment. You don't have to go the entire thermometer route if you don't want to, just make small dial adjustments and then give it some time (hour or two) to adjust and then test by feel. If you really want a plumber then I've had good luck with F.H. Furr. They will charge a trip charge and they are expensive for something minor like this but I've found them reliable and fair when compared to other reputable plumbing shops. They will NOT tell you that you MUST have something you don't need. They will try to upsell to get you on their monthly plan and if they do the "free" inspections they will recommend things. The recommendations are valid but may not be 100% needed and I didn't find them trying to BS me that it was necessary.

I've never used them, but I've heard good things about Presidential Plumbing from MONA.

I used O'Neill Plumbing to get a kid's bath toy that had been lodged deep in a toilet. They were professional, fast, and got the job done without charging an arm and a leg. They actually talked me through a few things I could try over the phone in an attempt to save me the cost of an actual service call.

I have a TERRIFIC plumber - Caffi Plumbing and Heating - 703-836-6775 ask for Jovanne Delgado. He is just wonderful. Caffi is NOT cheap but Jovanne gets things fixed. If you get him tell him I recommended him.

We have a really great plumber. Capitol Services. Locally owned family business. 793-403-6050. Significantly cheaper than Caffi & Shreve and really good guys- owner Demos Zissios grew up here in Arlington. I can't say enough good things about them.

When we had water damage from a leak in the apartment above us after the leak was fixed we called a plaster to fix the ceiling. I highly recommend either Sean Hourican or Patrick Hourican both in Arlington and are great guys.

Call Sean Quinn 617-797-0051, a very very very reliable contractor I use all the time for my personal jobs and my architectural jobs. Or, if insurance is involved, get a good/reliable company that specializes in this work (many such companies were/are very active in this area due to ice dam damage)..not cheap but the insurance pays these guys to do a good job.
