It's in Tyrone, but Dr. John Kim at Georgia Integrative Medicine changed my life. Insurance won't cover any of it, but he has helped me understand and manage chronic pain so much. I don't even go any more, but for me, his time was invaluable.
John O. replied:
What are your symptoms, and what do you want to have treated? If you can't avoid the allergen, pills are unfortunately your best choice. Until some of these 'alternative medicines' can prove their efficacy, there is really no point unless you just want a placebo. And some can actually be harmful. I think comedy says it best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI-Uu94 vINg And all the actual useful stuff people who espouse 'holistic medicine' that actually works, modern medical science is totally copacetic with. Exercise, diet, and psychological health-- of course those are important!

Humm, lots of options but not specifically an allergist... Hans Wakeman for alternative Chiropractic. Myisha Clairborne for MD + Acupuncture. East west healthcare consultants on Roswell rd for traditional acupuncture

Im with Matt about the local honey! Try and get it raw and with the comb if possible. Also, Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar is amazing. I take a shot of it every day!
Atlanta allergist Does anybody have any recommendations for a good allergist in Atlanta? In particular, one that will do allergy testing for more than just food items?...
postmodernfemme replied:
Dr. George R. Gottlieb(404) 294-4761, his office is located in the medical building at Dekalb Medical Hospital in Decatur. He diagnosed my milk protein allergy after my Internist, Neurologist, Dietician, and GI surgeon missed it. He still writes his medical chart notes by hand and is an amazing old school Allergist. Hopefully, he can help you, too.
rooktakesqueen replied:
Dr. Robert Springer. He's my GP but is also an allergist and helped my girlfriend get over allergies that had been plaguing her for years.

I recommend The Allergy & Asthma Center. I've been treated by them since 1986. http://www.allergyinatlanta.com/about-our-practice/ Edit: The doctor I started with is now retired, but Dr. Stahlman is [very good](http://i.imgur.com/tgvN0P6.png).

I was going to suggest peachtree allergy as that's who I go to. They tested me for everything, not just food..
runonwheels replied:
I go to Avicenna Allergy & Asthma and see Dr. Rezvani. They have a location in Buckhead for those inside the city (also in Marietta). I had a really great experience with him, as he treats with traditional medicine and/or holistic therapies depending on your preference. I had previously been tested at a different allergy clinic and they did not pick up my allergy to cats & dogs which I was almost positive I had. (It took a blood test to finally figure it out with Dr. Rezvani.) I also found out I was allergic to milk. Cutting dairy out of my diet has helped my asthma/allergies immensely. Anyways, he was great, and very positive.
Can any local friends recommend a great allergist that deals with food allergies? I'm willing to drive a bit for one that's awesome.
Janna S. replied:
Yes! We love Dr. Rezvani at Georgia Allergy. Gaallergy.comThe office is located at the Scottish Rite campus in Dunwoody. In think they have an Alpharetta office too.
Lisa M. replied:
Dr. Cole in Alpharetta with Atlanta allergy and asthma. Been seeing him since I was 12.
Amy M. replied:
Shauna takes Aidan to Dr. Seidu at GA Allergy and she loves him! Poor Aidan has a lot of allergies so that def says a lot if she is happy with him! Good luck! Wait- is this for you or your kids?
I need some recommendations for a stellar GI in the Cobb/Downtown Atlanta area. Heck, if he/she's really good we'll drive. Oh, and thanks for the allergist, Kimberly...

(404) 355-3200C. Preston Stewart at Piedmont. He went to Vanderbilt and is an excellent GI doc. I had seen him for years and since moving he helped get me in with a great doc at Vandy.
Elisabeth O. replied:
This is too funny. My mom adores her GI, so I asked her for his name. Well, turns out it's Preston Stewart at Piedmont. So it seems you really need to call him lol.
Laura R. replied:
Hey Sally, I work at Piedmont and Dr. Stewart is great! Looks like you are going to be coming to Midtown.
