Anyone recommend an endocrinologist is Bham? I really need one that specializes in pituitary issues, but not sure that there is one in the area.
Ashley R. replied:
I go to a great Reproductive Endocrinologist at the UAB Infants and women's center named Dr. Blackwell. His associate is Dr. Bates.
Karen F. replied:
Definitely Dr Blackwell he is awesome. Took Kelsey to him and he diagnosed her right off after 4 years of doctors looking at us or creating us like her symptoms was nothing or saying she will grow out of it.

Joe Teague. Really hard to get in with but if you want me to call for you, I will!! He's a mad scientist--and wonderful. Creative and willing to treat outside the box. Cautious and thoughtful--doesn't just throw you on synthroid. Great location in homewood. Call me if you want to know more--he saved me when I had post partum thyroiditis and we thought I had graves. Also have a friend who sees him with graves, swears by him!!! Says she wish she had been with him from the beginning.

Sarah sees Gail Mick (also in the Endo clinic at Children's). She was the first doctor who didn't just pat me on the head and tell me not to worry when I expressed concern about Sarah's size. One of her practitioners was also one of our NICU primary nurses. It's a great group.
Cindy R. replied:
Sam has seen Dr. Abdullatif and has for 8 years. We love him! He is at Children's. Would not see anyone else - but he is very hard to get in to see.
