I just moved to the area and I am looking for a referral for an Endocrinologist (diabetes specialty). Thanks in advance.

I use Dr Vinaya Kamath of Boulder Endocrinology. 303-586-5300. I really like her. I've heard good things about her partners also. Only suggestion is to get a morning appt. she spends a lot of time with her patients so tends to run late in the afternoon.
Ellen W. replied:
Type 2 for me but I know she treats both. Don't think she specializes in pediatrics but I suggest you call the office or look at the website- www.BoulderEndo.com They could probably direct you to a local specialist if they can't help.

The Barbara Davis Center was horrible for us and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They are more interested in their research then they are helping their current patients. If you are looking for a fabulous pediatric endocrinologist for Type 1 diabetes then Dr. Maniatis, who comes to Frederick (beats the heck out of the drive to Aurora) every Thursday is amazing as well as his PA Mako. Their number is (720) 420-3636. Good luck!
Local friends in the Boulder/Denver/L-cities/ anywhere in between---I would love to hear your suggestions/recommendations of a good Endocrinologist. My Endocrinologist...

Two different people I know (who do not know one another) and who both have diabetes type 2 told me that the book "There is a Cure for Diabetes" by Cousens helped them immensely. I had loaned the book to each of them and both returned it saying they were going to buy their own copy: http://www.amazon.com/There-Cure-Diabetes-Revised-Holistic/dp/158394544X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1386222199&sr=1-1&keywords=the+cure+for+diabetes

thanks Michele Deradune, I've heard of the book...I'll go to the bookstore and take a look at it. Hopefully the library has it. The Boulder Library is pretty good and so is the CU Library.
