I use Dr Vinaya Kamath of Boulder Endocrinology. 303-586-5300. I really like her. I've heard good things about her partners also. Only suggestion is to get a morning appt. she spends a lot of time with her patients so tends to run late in the afternoon.

Type 2 for me but I know she treats both. Don't think she specializes in pediatrics but I suggest you call the office or look at the website- www.BoulderEndo.com They could probably direct you to a local specialist if they can't help.

The Barbara Davis Center was horrible for us and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They are more interested in their research then they are helping their current patients. If you are looking for a fabulous pediatric endocrinologist for Type 1 diabetes then Dr. Maniatis, who comes to Frederick (beats the heck out of the drive to Aurora) every Thursday is amazing as well as his PA Mako. Two different people I know (who do not know one another) and who both have diabetes type 2 told me that the book "There is a Cure for Diabetes" by Cousens helped them immensely. thanks Michele Deradune, I've heard of the book...I'll go to the bookstore and take a look at it. Hopefully the library has it. The Boulder Library is pretty good and so is the CU Library.
