Is there any doctors in Kitsap county not affiliated with CHI ?
Tasha S. replied:
The Doctors Clinic is affiliated with CHI, not owned by but affiliated as are the two doctors listed above. Amy Anderson in Silverdale is not affiliated with CHI or Harrison she just happens to rent an office space out of the hospital in Silverdale. I believe Dr Caulkins in Bremerton is not affiliated either.
Sound Healthcare Center in Port Orchard is still independent.

I love Dr Amy Anderson and she's not your typical doctor.. She doesn't just supe you up on medicine, she actually listens to you and works with you on finding out thoroughly what's going on and fixing it and then asking you if you want medicine for it or would you like to try it this way first and then see if we need medicine.. She's amazing!!! I believe she is an D.O too, which basically means they complete their practices by understanding the patient and instead of looking at lets say 3 patients that have diabetes and treating them all the same because they all have diabetes,(which a lot of doctors now do) she treats them all differently in their own way because even though they all have diabetes they are each a different patient with different needs, reactions, and tolerances!!❤

Dr Gretch at Olympic Internal Medicine. When I first met him, I told him that I wanted to be treated like a person with a family, not just a patient number and $$. That I wanted to be looked at in the eyes and that I’m a slow learner. He said “ you got it” and to let him know I ever started to feel that way. He would change. He has been amazing at helping me get through a cancer diagnosis and very understanding with my fear of flying.

Laurie G. replied:
Try Lutheran Social Services (www.lcsnw.org). They have mental health services and charge on a sliding scale (last I heard). Depending on your insurance, you might check with The Doctors Clinic. They are all over Kitsap County and also have at least one urgent care clinic. I know that's not a specific name but they have a lot to offer. For example, you might like a DO instead of MD. You might click with someone at the clinic, and if not, could easily switch to someone else within the clinic.
Angela H. replied:
I agree with Angela Kartischko. I see Dr. Caulkins now, from her recommendation, and really like him.

I see Sherry Nuzieck at Dr . Calkins office. Olympic family practice is the office name. In my opinion they are both great. My husband and two boys see caulkins and i prefer Sherry just because I like to deal with a woman. I have found for all my issues that getting referrals are easy peasy and Sherry really listens and tries to find the reason behind my issues and not just throw a bandaid on it and rush me off to talk to the next patient. They are located right down off of cherry so walking distance from manette if need be:)

So now that Harrison is not long accepting regence bcbs insurance, anyone have good recommendations for a pediatrician and general adult physician?
Julie H. replied:
Franciscan refused to accept the contract amounts that Harrison was receiving thru Regence, so now they are forcing people to change providers. I will try to avoid Franciscan facilities as a matter of principle--they took over our local facilities but won't take our shipyard insurance as a preferred provider. Maybe if we boycott Franciscan, they will come to terms with Regence. How about Doctors Clinic or Sound Health in PO?
Julie B. replied:
Dr Clinic
Crystal C. replied:
Stephen Tolles in Silveradale. The doctors with him are amazing too!
Colrain F. replied:
For pediatrics, we love Pediatrics NW in Gig Harbor, on Point Fosdick. Not sure for adults.
Julie H. replied:
Yes, an emergency should be covered anywhere. I only just heard the term hospitalist when my husband had an accident in May. But she only cared for him until his own doctor took over, since he needed an orthopedic specialist (the most wonderful Dr. Stacee Kessinger of West Sound Ortho).
Michelle O. replied:
If you have Regence you can go to Franciscan physicians, clinics. and hospitals. Although they joined in a partnership with Harrison, they still accept Regence. if you have a question about whether a particular provider accepts Regence as a proferred provider...check with them and then double check with Regence. Also my physician Dr. Erin Dawson is here at Dr/s Clinic of Port Orchard...she refers to Franciscan and is also accepting Regence. All of my physicians in the Franciscan Network...( 5 ) in all are all preferred providers. St. Anthony's is also a very good hospital...and is the same mileage to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton...but is probably quicker...because you don't have to go through Gorst !
Rebecca N. replied:
It was my understanding that Franciscan will still be perferd providers for Regency along with Harrison Hospital. Only Harrison Partners will not be a preferd provider.
Anastasia V. replied:
Doctors Clinic in Port Orchard! Doctor Diaz for Pediatrician.
Courtney W. replied:
We love the Doctors Clinic, both Port Orchard and Silverdale locations. they still take Regence. Harrison ERs are covered, urgent care is not.

Donna C. replied:
Dr. Terra Sowinski in Belfair- Tranquil Healing
Rochelle N. replied:
The Doctor's Clinic pediatrics is still covered(the one inside Harrison). They have regular docs too.
Rita M. replied:
Doesn't really mean you have to switch Dr's. If you have an emergency you can still go to Harrison and they will pay at the preferred rate. If you are going in because the Dr is too busy then the non-preferred rate kicks in. Dr don't follow their patients to hospital anymore. You will see a hospitalist and then be released back to your Dr. If you go to Harrison Urgent care as non emergency you pay more out of pocket. This is my understanding of the BCBS mess.
Robert T. replied:
I am not fond of Harrison anyway. Seems like their care has changed dramatically with the advent of Obama care. Obamacare Obamacare, however lean your changes. Same policy different interpretation.
