Looking for a horse dentist! Or a vet that will do dentistry.
Rasp, NOT power float.
Two horses, located in Puslinch, ON.
Any recommendations?!

Laverne Turnbull 1-905-979-4753 I think we pay $25 per horse without tranquilizer, tranq isn't much more, Hand float! He is super sweet, he respects and truly enjoys working with the horses, he was my young ones first, my spooky abused mares first (in 7 years, imagine how bad her teeth were!) he by far is the best in the area!
Kelly T. replied:
A power float is only as harsh as the hands that hold it. I would never manual float... Unless the dentist is very skilled those far back teeth often get missed. It is also difficult to get a good look at tooth health as well. I have used Dr. Cook at McKee Pownall for power floats several times and she did an amazing job. Very careful and thorough.
Laura H. replied:
Dr. Penny Barteaux, she can be hard to get a hold of but she's awesome. 519-580-8040.

http://www.lindsaychamber.com/Equine-Services-Supplies/Kevin-Rundle-Equine-Dentistry-1546 he travels all over the place but he may have a waiting list as he actually is the best.
Brianna W. replied:
If you don't mind me asking - why not power float? Just curious, not bashing or anything.. I have had my horses both manually down and power float. I used Chris Gaul for manual float and he was wonderful! and Mckee Pownall for Power float.. it was expensive but my mares mouth was full of ulcers, hooks and all that bad stuff.

Collin Peace from aberfoyle vet services
Caroline C. replied:
Called Kevin, not going with him, he was rude on the phone. And he will only take my horse if hes coming to the area on emergency, AND only if he approves of my vet because he has to work with my vet for tranq.
Aletia T. replied:
Highly recommend Dr.Robin Reid-Burke. Www.millcreekequine.comVery professional and terrific around the horses.
Jess P. replied:
Laverne Townsend. He's $25 a horse
Katrina J. replied:
Kevin Rundell has been very hard to get ahold of for years. We only used him once, and had to pay the vet to come out to sedate my horse on top of paying Kevin to be there. This was about 8 years ago though.
Theresa G. replied:
Laverne Turnbull hands down. Excellent with horses
Does anyone know of a vet that's open late for non-emergencies? My dog has scratched a bug bite open on her nose and its swollen. Looks infected now and bleeding a lot....
Kim D. replied:
Poor baby, Try Broadway Animal Hospital519 940 0899. Dr. Yogi is amazing. It says they close at 7 pm but he's such a caring guy he would probably stay later.
Melissa S. replied:

Burgess Animal Hospital on Glamis Road. Never have I ever been so happy with a vet. Extremely reasonable and honest.
Elizabeth G. replied:
I used to go to Dr. Fox on Beaverdale Rd. for my cat Leo, but now Leo as I have decided does not need a vet anymore as he is too old. Period. He is good. Anyways Dr. Fox is very good.
Marcie T. replied:
2 ppl I know have gone to Preston Animal Clinic and they recommend it as well:)
There are a lot of low cost animal clinics around town. All I have to say is you get what you pay for. I personally highly recommend Hwy 24 Vet Clinic. Fantastic care!
