We've had very good luck with Mitchell Animal Hospital. Dr. Gerald Gyorffy has been very thorough and caring with our greyhound Heidi. We were at a vet clinic closer to Eastbridge, but returned to Mitchell because the rates were much lower and care was excellent. We especially noticed this because of the vet blend food our dog requires. http://mahonline.com/

Laurelwood Veterinary! I’ve been taking my dog there for 11 years. They are so kind and compassionate! I have anxiety so it has been especially amazing for taking me down a notch. They’ve never been judgemental, they’ve only ever done a procedure if she absolutely needs it. One time the vet wanted to double check something, pre-surgery, and instead of me driving back in, she popped into my house. They are fantastic and I’m super grateful for them.

I'm sure someone has recommended them, Eldale Vet services. They are great, cheaper than almost all the city Vets and they are great.

We have been going to Mitchell Animal Hospital. We went there when we lived in that area when we first got our dog but changed to Lincoln Village when we moved here. We found Lincoln Village really expensive (charged $20 to put a bandage on after they took blood for example). We switched back to Mitchell even though it is a bit of a drive. Lincoln Village gave us a really hard time about transferring our dogs' records too. Our oldest dog has had many health issues and Mitchell has been fantastic with him. They are very reasonable with the fees they charge. A lot of them are pretty standard but I don't feel overcharged.

Contact Mills Mobile Veterinary Services! Dave Mills is fantastic! Comes to your home, so no stress on your pet (or you!) Can do most tests on site and is associated with a clinic if there is a need. He has been looking after my cat for 5 years now and I would NEVER go back to taking her to a clinic! Feel free to PM me for any further info! My only regret is that I came to know Dave Mills after a horrendous situation when I had to have my dog put down. The vet at Lincoln Village Animal Hospital really screwed up euthanizing my beautiful Lab, Kelsey. How I wish that David Mills could have quietly put her to sleep right here at home!

I recommend Mitchell Animal Hospital - they were absolutely kind and lovely when I came to them a few months ago with my senior cat after a truly terrible experience at another local vet clinic. They reviewed her records and were very honest with me about her prognosis (unlike the other place that was pushing expensive testing and procedures when it was clear that my cat didn't have much time left).

Highland road pet hospital. Absolute best prices vet have ever been to. They have yearly plans that include all appointments (which can be $90 each time other places, includes yearly vaccinations, deworming and flea treatment, and even 10% food & medications. The yearly fee is ~$300 for my senior dog, but cats are obviously cheaper. They are also open pretty late which is convenient. The vet himself is kind but quiet and the techs are amazing. I would suggest this place for the savings alone because my dog has always received great care!

Preston Animal Clinic in Cambridge can help. 226 243 0370 give them a call. They are amazing vets and reasonably priced
Nathalie J. replied:
there are only two vets who will take care of birds. Our budgie did have problems too and we took her to Waterloo West Animal Hospital. Call them and make sure they still take care of birds. Was the bird just out for flight time? Did it get scared by anything? Did it nibble on anything while out flying?
Lisa Y. replied:
Exotic Wings and Things in St Clements is a great resource. They hand raise many different varieties of parrots and other birds. Last time I talked to them they have an avian vet that comes to their store once a week and I understand that you can make an appointment with him. Their feed is reasonable and they have anything you would ever need for your bird. The owners are Mark and Lisa.

I priced every vet in the city this week as my cat was extremely sick. Only one vet was the best price and good ratings. Eldale veterinary clinic in Elmira. It's a 15 minute drive but X-rays were $105.00 plus $50.00 for every subsequent one needed. Full plate blood test ( not just small plate) was $108.00. Vets in the city here were $150.00 or more for am X-ray. And small plate blood test was $150.00 or more. Euthanization was only $64.00. Initial exam only $66.00. Versus around $75.00 to $89.00 here in K/W. They were professional and kind. They respected my budget and explained what costs could run rather than surprising you. Or overcharging with a surprise. I truly believe a vet that services small pet as well as large farm animals is a better price and well rounded.

Jess T. replied:
Please just use nail clippers. They even have cat clippers that look like scissors. Start as a kitten and the cat will be used to it asap. No problem to do it. The vet can teach you how to do it without clipping the nail quick. That being said. - Dr Bonnie Worthen at the Cat Hospital on Weber is the best!

There has really been no change. We just know now that her breathing gets much worse if she is stressed or handled. So, all medicating and feeding is being done without picking her up and as quietly as possible. She still has a fever. She is still drooling copiously and gagging on it. I am hoping to get her in to see Dr. Tait who is a great dental surgeon. So far no one has been able to get a good look in her mouth. I am wondering if she has fractured a molar root or has a foreign object/mass in her mouth. If that is the case then she is not going to improve without surgical intervention.
