Has anyone here used Dr. Ciribassi in Illinois for a behavior consult? He is the only certified vet behaviorist in my state, and my vet is referring me. The full consult...

Make the appointment. I hope you won't have to wait too long. Dr. Ciribassi is a board-certified veterinary behaviorist. What more could anyone want?
Denise T. replied:
Dr Ciribassi, Dr. Ballantine, Laura MT and Dr. Bennett all come highly recommended. I refer to all of them. Dr. Bennet is in Berwyn at the Berwyn VCA Specialty Center and Dr. Ballantyne and Laura Monaco Torelli work out of Integrative Pet Care in Chicago. May be easier to get into one of them in a more timely manner then Dr. Ciribassi .

If you are a vet, vet tech or vet assistant, you can go see all of these SUPERSTARS at this symposium at Brookfield Zoo this Sunday: http://chicagovetbehaviorgroup.org/symposium/.

Cocoa, I HIGHLY recommend our only other Chicago area board-certified vet behaviorist (for now) Dr. Sara Bennett at Berwyn VCA. She is beyond wonderful - warm, smart, kind...just fantastic. We did our consult with her and our fearful/shy Golden Retriever, Dylan. We were extremely happy! She helps many rescues as well with their fearful dogs. Her follow-up is personal and as is her team's! http://www.vcaspecialtyvets.com/berwyn/departments-doctors/doctors/sara-bennett/35707

Cocoa Blohm--Dr Ciribassi is one of the great behaviorists! If your dog is in need and you have the opportunity to see him, I would highly recommend him!

I live in the far north of the state. Dr. Ciribassi is in Buffalo Grove or downtown Chicago, in two different clinics. We have a ton of quacks around here, all calling themselves behaviorists. I knew a lady with a randomly reactive Yorkie who was on Prozac, a shock collar and a prong collar. The poor animal was neurologically defective, and needed to be humanely euthanized. I was so sad to see what that guy did to him!

Dr. Ciribassi is excellent (I've heard him speak), also is one of the authors/ editors of the book, Decoding Your Dog. I live in the city, so I saw his associate, Dr. Ballantyne. She's great, too. Laura MT was in the room for our first appointment (1 of 2). It was all a lot of money for me, but necessary and worth it. Like an investment for us. Things are not perfect, but I now have tools to deal with my Mini's issues. I learned a lot. Last year at this time, I was a mess - crying every day - because my pup was terrified to be home alone.

Another good behavioural vet is Dr. Sara Bennett. She's in the south suburbs.

Hey people in the Chicagoland area ... Anyone know of a good veterinarian who's prices are decent? It seems my cat Stitch is going to have to get one of toes amputated....
Two new dogs came in to Adopt a Husky this weekend. Renki, a sweet big boy came from a downstate shelter. He was pulled right before he was scheduled to be euthanized...
