I am starting to look into some fun camps for my 8 year old to be in this summer. I work from home, so it doesn't have to be all day camps, but like to get her out of...

MaxFit Studio does kids FIT camp classes! They are so fun and the kids have a blast and get ALL their energy out. Let me know if you want more info! ☺️

Denver Botanic Gardens camps at Chatfield are *wonderful*. It's a bit of a drive, but so worth it, IMO. I can't say enough good things about what a terrific job they do! http://catalog.botanicgardens.org/Default.aspx?tagid=18Mad Science Camps are good, too, and they have locations all over. You can choose half day or full day. http://colorado.madscience.org/

Larkspur Fire does a junior fire academy that is 4 half days. The kids get to do all kinds of firefighter skills and learn some great safety tips. Lt. Jarrod Lamb is in charge of it. I believe it is for 8-12 yr olds. The phone number is 303-681-3284. I'm not sure if they have set the dates for this year yet or not. The kids have a great time.

There are a few horse camps in the Douglas County Mac Kid Summer Camp guide ... http://highlandsranch.macaronikid.com/article/925562/2015-douglas-county-summer-camp-guide-is-here

Yes, but days and times will change for summer. At the moment, we have classes Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 4:30 pm. During the summer we will be adding more classes throughout the week and also throughout the day. Our website is www.MaxFitStudioCR.com or check out our fb page at MaxFit Studio Castle Rock.:) The first class is also free!
Are there any good summer camps for kids aged 12-13 in Castle Rock? I am hoping for a science camp but I am coming up empty.
Heidi M. replied:
HI Leanne:) ....How about Theater camp? We love Spotlight Theater . They have week long summer camps throughout summer. SO fun! The closest science camp I have found is in Denver. I wanted Siena to go. She will do VBS / fencing and then hopefully one week of Theater Camp https://www.facebook.com/SpotlightTheaterCR?fref=ts
Carrie G. replied:
Not sure of the age groups, The Rock Church is running weekly camps all summer.
Heidi M. replied:
Carrie Greaves $5 through their website. There might be tickets available at the door, but I am not sure. One of the shows is sold out .http://www.spotlighttheater-cr.com/
Try PACE Center in Parker. They have a great variety of camp programs
Leanne L. replied:
Heidi, Alex is an actor, but we are not sure if he can sing and those are all musicals, he is in bed now, but I will ask him about it tomorrow, thanks for the idea. Carrie, I will have to check the church day camps thanks for the idea.
Heidi M. replied:
Leanne, that's ok...I would say that Siena "enjoyes singing" while she is not necessarily a "singer":).....she is definitely an actress though. There is as much speaking and singing involved. Why don't you come and see Annie Jr on Thursday. Siena is playing the role of Annie.....or if Thursday is too soon, there are also Annie performances on Friday and Saturday. This way you get a good idea what it is all about. Let me know so I can try to get you a ticket(s) Theater is also running a 10% discount on the summer camps in honor of the 1 year anniversary. The camps are week long and from 8 am till 4 pm...
Leanne L. replied:
I check VBS, Alex is on vacation when his age group has VBS. I would love to see Siena in a show, but I have a 7 pm pet sit every day for the next week and a half, so there is not anyway I could see her. Alex is an actor and loves acting, but we don't want him to burn out, he will be doing drama in middle school and drama club too and that meets every day of the week, so we want him to take a summer break. He just played Captain Hook in Peter Pan and was awesome! That was his last grade school play.
New to area - are there summer camps/programs for a 13 year old boy in Castle Rock?

Han Lees taekwondo has camps, martial arts, games, swimming etc. I'm not sure what the age is, but it could be something he may enjoy. http://m.hanleetaekwondoacademy.com/index.php

Thorne Nature Center near Chatfield has great nature programs.
Looking for opinions on Kennels for spring break. Camp Bow Wow in C/R or Beau Monde in Castle Pines. Positive/Negative expieriences with either. Any help is appreciated.
Angie C. replied:
We love Beau Monde. Our Vet (Plum Creek Vet) recommended them and we've used them ever since. I have two Great Danes, and it's perfect for them because it's a lot of space and not a lot of fluff.
Tamyra W. replied:
Beau Monde is the only place I will take my dogs.
Susie E. replied:
I have tried them all and love Tails Up on Gilbert. They will take you on a tour. Worth every cent!

We use VCA Tenaker - chose Dr. Matt Fordham back in 2006, been with them ever since. We rely on them for boarding & veterinarian services. They were fantastic when we dropped off our two #Akitas We were a little late calling one Christmas and missed getting them in one kennel. They paid extra attention to both of them, one has a problem being alone. They were able to get some extra time in the yard together. Dr. Fordham has been fantastic with him since diagnosing him with osteosarcoma seven weeks ago. He seems to know a lot of veterinarian services for other pain management needs. We chose them since they offer so many services at one facility.
Every year loads of people contact me at Christmas wanting to start my Castle Rock boot camp. 5 people just called in the last 2 hours. Sheesh! Wish I could let them...
