Can anyone recommend a good vet for my cat? Hi, i just moved here from New York. I searched the sub but i didn't find a post like this.
i have a four year old DSH cat...
Abner_Kravitz replied:
[Central Texas Cat Hospital](http://www.centraltexascathospital.com/) is the cat's meow. Dr. Smith is seriously the vet that other vets consult with on cats.
Frodo79 replied:
Try Lake Austin Blvd Animal Hospital across from Magnolia Cafe, 1 block west of Mopac. Great Vet practice with deadicated staff for over 25 years.
reallife0615 replied:
I can personally vouch for Arbor Animal Clinic (I think now it's called VCA Arbor Animal Hospital, same staff and doctors, though) and the Firehouse clinics. Both top notch in my experience. Good luck!
cannat replied:
Try Crossing Animal Clinic on Anderson Mill. It might take a few days to get him in, but definitely get him checked out. Males are very susceptible to UTIs.
TheOnlyLlamaGod replied:
Cat Hospital of Austin. My cat is the devil when it comes to the vet, but they make sure to take good care of her and check her out correctly.
100blackcats replied:
My cat would have been dead two years ago - she is in complete renal failure (she ate Roundup and destroyed her kidneys). CTCH has her on a med regimen and she is still alive. Right now she's dozing on her favorite chair and is happy and content. They are wonderful.

Central Texas Cat Hospital this is where I take my two Siamese cats.. have been taking them here for almost 7 years. Dr. Roy Smith is who I always see. They are a cat vet - they LOVE cats! NOTE: they have several "in house pets" that roam freely so if your cat gets stressed around other strange animals, definitely bring your kitty in a carrier. Oh and the staff are awesome too! I'm a bit neurotic at times with my fur-babies and I have NEVER felt like a bother with all my questions and such. Good Luck!
Nicole A. replied:
I didn't even know there was a Cat Hospital/Vet in Austin. Thank you Rebecca. Even though I'm happy where I go, they are far. In the event that I needed immediate cat care, I now know of a closer cat only facility.:)

Our vet was Dr. Thompson at Cedar Park Animal Clinic. He was great with our dogs (and us). Our dogs saw him for their whole lives. He is very gentle and easy going for both the animals and the people who love them. I am sure that he would be sweet with your kitty. I noticed on the website that Dr. Waage owns 2 cats of her own. Maybe she'd be a good fit for you.
