So, it has been brought to my attention that I should go to an optometrist. I don't think my insurance covers it so does anyone know of an inexpensive one in Charlotte?
Ryan S. replied:
Also zennioptical.com has super cheap frames and lenses. It's where I've gotten my last two pairs of glasses. I usually go to a Walmart eye doctor. But I have been going to the same doc in Minn for about 14 years. She's awesome!
Tandra L. replied:
I've used America's Best for years and have no complaints. They have a limited supply on each style of frame, but many to choose from and at different price ranges. Great for those on a budget and no insurance. http://www.americasbest.com/
Any recommendations for a good optometrist (eye doctor)? I'll be moving to Charlotte in the next few weeks and I need to find a good optometrist. I have a couple issues...
gravelgrrl replied:
I see Dr. Smith at [Horizon Eye Care](http://www.horizoneye.com/) He is an ophthalmologist though. Horizon has offices all over Charlotte and convenient hours. If you decide to make an appointment with them for an eye exam, they have a technician find your correct prescription, and then the doctor will come in to do the eye exam. The refraction (I think it's called? -- that determines your prescription) upfront is $40 or they will bill you for $75.

Teresa Hernández, Laurie was talking about me. I live in Plaza Midwood, but my practice is slightly south of Ballantyne. If someone is looking for an Optometrist that is closer, I recommend Marc James, O.D. at Horizon Eye Care in Cotswold.

Tammy Hawks on 7 th St -- great doctor, glasses run expensive but she usually just writes out my Rx which I can take anywhere.
Hi all! Anyone have a good optometrist that they'd recommend? We recently moved from Charlotte and they were always hit-or-miss there.
Ben W. replied:
Dr. McDonald on haywood next to Dr. Dave's or tunnel vision near the mall
Tonya K. replied:
Do not go to Dr. McDonald! I have very bad eyesight and he did nothing for me, said I didn't need new glasses and that I didn't need progressive lenses when I knew darn well that I did! Best optometrist I have found is unfortunately way down south, Champion Eye Center on Long Shoals Rd.
