Not sure if you're talking about newborn photography as in right after birth or newborn photography as in the first few days, but I could do either. I could be open to barter! www.mamaelephantdoula.com Like · 1 · Yesterday at 6:43 pm

I worked with Rita and her second doula through Mother Me Inc. and had a great experience. They use to be located right across from Bloom but relocated to a different location close by. She lives near by too which was comforting!

Freya, also look into if any Community Doula programs near you hire doulas; another option is to look at getting hired as a 'home visitor' for perinatal programs like Early Head Start; Healthy Families; Parent as Teachers (these are federally funded programs in all 50 states and territories) that start home visitation in the 2 nd trimester of pregnant women and continue until baby is 2 years old with weekly visits on topics like childbirth ed, breastfeeding, infant developmental milestones etc. Early Head Start has been cross training their home visitors as doulas for about 15 years in some regions. Here is a link to the federal funded programs which you can than find your local state or regional agency and use your doula skills both in labor and in life with expectant and new moms: http://mchb.hrsa.gov/programs/homevisiting/

Also, where in Texas are you? This is a federally funded community doula program that hires and pays doulas: http://www.hfihouston.org/hfis-community-doula-program-recent-graduates.aspx
