Actually, there's this machine. Max size is about 10 X 6. Reviews are mixed. Sometimes Joanns lowers the price to 750$ https://www.joann.com/singer-em200-superb/14924765.html#q=embroidery%2Bmachine&start=1

Mac I think only has Trubroidery, which is really expensive. For PC there's a few programs - Viking and Pfaff have one (I think 7D is the most recent version), Brother has one, Embird is really popular.

The PE500 and the PE770 are great starter machines. I run a lot of my single patches and design tests on a PE500. Just PLEASE buy quality supplies. Using super cheap poor quality thread will lead to tangles and thread snapping/shredding as will poor quality cheap junky needles. Bad, or the wrong kind, of stabilizer will lead to projects not being supported or even tearing away from the hoop or worse. Not to mention incorrect hooping can cause poor results. There are a ton of instructional videos online that can help with all of this. Lmao the first 2 things I made I hooped upside down, like you would a cross stitch hoop, and it did not go well XD Even worse I knew better! I use PE design 8 (it was a gift) and a I adore it. Remember to change your needles as needed as well. A lot of issues can be fixed by putting in a new sharp needle or even the right kind of needle. Different types of needles are needed for different types of fabric. I keep one machine that has nothing but special embroidery needles installed in it for metallic thread and I do just metallic work on it.
