I took my youngest into Griffith Uni psychology for help when she was about 6 only to find out my son was suffering with the same as your son but not telling me. A referal from your GP is all it takes. If you're worried about money, Lyn Paul at Central Focus has no gap with Medicare if a Mental Health Plan is in place. Take it EXTREMELY serious.. Your child is asking for attention and wants you to guide and help him!

Hey first step would be to get an appointment with your GP for a mental health care plan. Next step would be to find a psychologist that specialises in working with children. You said northern Gold Coast so I would recommend Jill Donaldson at CBT professionals, Shannon Teefy in Oxenford or Michael Edmondson (who I think is mobile). I would obtain some collateral from the school and see if there's something going on? Most of all though talk to your child. It sounds like you are a busy mum who is doing the best with what you have. See if you can get a babysitter for an hour or two and take your son out for a milkshake and talk about what's going on. Also keep 1300 MH Call. If ever you feel his safety is at risk and it's after hours give them a call for advice. Admin E works in this area.

I'd go to a private psychiatrist. He is very young to be saying things like that. The Evandale Practice in Bundall have a great selection of doctors. You are going to pay but going through the hoops to see a Psych in the public system isn't worth it. You'll need a referral from a GP.
