Hi Anonymous, I've worked in education for 12 years and have recently begun offering my own tutoring services. Whilst my specialty is young children I also have experience tutoring up to Year 12. I've always found teenagers have such varied learning styles and that for most, helping them translate "what the teacher wants" is the key to building their confidence. Literacy support may also help. Please contact me via Facebook if you'd like to chat http://www.facebook.com/minimindstutoring/

I used these guys and would recommend. They use if needed repetitive methods and assist with related education...Also help with up coming exams. The palm beach one had a good lil vibe to it and you can chat with them and they'll work with his needs/ weak areas. http://www.kipmcgrath.com.au/find-a-centre/?c=palm-beach

Tutor is a great idea but to me the problem seems to be more to do with reading and comprehension I would suggest also getting him to read more, maybe short stories, it'll be at his own pace and practice makes perfect. As a kid I loved Paul Jennings and Roald Dahl

There is heaps of Bariatric Facebook pages in Aust that have people just like you asking questions. Some people have used their superannuation some have joined private health so in 12 months time they ready for surgery. Best of luck. My advice... Research research research.

I had GS done 10 months ago with Dr Harald Puhalla at Pindarra, couldn't fault him for before & after. His cost were very reasonable. I had PHI but my friend used her super, so make sure you check that out. It cost approx $7-$10 k all up without private cover. I'm so glad I did it, can be a bit tough at the beginning but no regrets & would do again

If you are starting to have tummy problems I would be asking your GP to check for crohn's disease, it's common to have with endometriosis and PCOS. A great GP is Dr Martin Bull at Coomera Village Medical Centre.

I was sleeved 21 months ago by Dr Nolan - 38 kgs down... Dr Nolan, Dr Liew and Dr Jordaan all have good reputations. Don't just choose the cheapest Dr. Ask questions of Dr and his patients all the positives and negatives!! Trust me there are negatives!! Get on and join all the Facebook Bariatric pages..... it is a lifestyle change but it's not for everyone & at times its def NOT easy! If you want honest feedback feel free to PM me - I am also a nurse on the GC and happy to be yr support person if you choose to have surgery. Best of luck x

Dr Ces Colagrande in Broadbeach/mermaid... He was professional, I have bad aniexty and he made me feel comfortable and to make it worse it was my first ever surgery and I was literally shaking on the operating table but I gotta say I've had 3 surgerys since then and his was by far the best and most relaxed I have ever felt through surgeries wise... I woke up in a little pain but nothing major I only needed Panadol and then the first couple nights were a bit painful but dr Ces called me every single night to make sure I was ok and how my day went.. Then after a week I went and saw him and got my surgical bra off and my drainage tubes taken out (a lot of surgeons don't use them anymore but he believes it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to clots and infections) I had an augmentation and I had a 6/7 month old son at the time and out of all my surgeries this one had to be the easiest of recovery with having young children.. Mine were around $10,000 I got to see him up to a year after surgery and now 3 years on and I'm pregnant and they are still amazing

A referral won’t cost you but visiting the specialist will. There is a surgeon in Rockhampton who only has out of pocket costs of $1000 plus similar for anaesthetist with phi. Her name is Nicole Andrews and she is excellent. She will only do one procedure at once though.
